I am with you on that! I am still learning all the features of the forum interface. Did you know you can have contacts and friends by clicking on Settings (next to Log Out) and then on Friends & Contacts under Networking? Check it out. The forum web design is one of the best I have used.
I thought I stumbled across a way to define "groups" of people around some theme, but I can't seem to find it now. But that would be great for getting people together who share some common interest. Finally, there is an Event Calendar, but I have no idea how to use it. But if it is like the one on Google+ it would very useful for posting events sponsored by the various groups. Just a thought.

We tested the group feature in the past but we never really used it. The biggest problem is that you need to find where the groups are and then search for one group... That's not working out well...
Do you have a link to the G+ group? I left Facebook so there is no aerofly group for me on social media anymore.

I did exactly the same -- left Facebook after their sneaky privacy changes, and went to Google+. My G+ account is under the "handle" Adak Whidbey, with a nickname of Adak47. You can search either one and get to my page at:

I have just created an Aerofly FS hangout, so if you want to join that group, let me know. BTW, as I noted in my post on simulated multiplayer in AFS,

Google+ has a great audio/video app which members can download to use for the hangout. My Storm Raiders friends and I use audio for coordinating formation flying and aerobatics. It is really a lot of fun, and very useful.
