Aerofly 2 version 2.3.1 for iOS available now

Apple has approved our latest update for Aerofly 2 on iOS. You should be able to
update to this version within the next hours.

Quite a lot of things have changed. The biggest change are the improved Navigation
feature and the extra region South California.

Please note: This version is only compatible with iOS 9.x and 64 Bit iOS devices.

Love this update apart from one issue. From a distance, parts of the aircraft disappear and reappear as the aircraft gets closer to the camera. This happened in a previous version and was fixed but now the 'object culling' is even more aggressive. This is most evident in the fly by camera view where wheels, undercarriage, doors and even engine covers will disappear on the A320 for example. This is on an Air 2 after a restart. It's surprising because otherwise, the game does run noticeably smoother.

One other thing I noticed is there doesn't appear to be any city lighting at night time in the new region. Los Angeles and San Diego are in darkness.

I also noticed there is no Van Nuys :confused:

Shame, as this is quite an iconic airport in the region.

We will check the issue with the object culling. Under what circumstances do you observe this?

All new cities should have night lights, we will check this and update it beginning next year.

I'll double check tonight but I noticed the object culling on all the aircraft I have tried in this update and the fly by view is the easiest to see it but the tower view also highlights this as you zoom out.

Wow! I really love the new self-shadowing feature, but while it looks incredible on external views, on the cockpit it produces a very annoying effect due to all these moving jaggies. Is it possible to have soft shadows on the cockpit view, at least on the iPad Air 2 or equivalent?

I've noticed the following issue with black scenery at the March Air Reserve Base. This is on iOS 9.2 on both the Air 2 and Mini 4. Happens with any aircraft and also after a restart although the size of the black area can vary:

Here are some screens of the lack of city night lights. I thought it was just the new region but checked San Fran and it's the same. This is affecting both Air 2 and Mini 4 on iOS 9.2:

I've noticed a bug with the aircraft warning lights on top of control towers and other tall buildings. At the first time, they are ok, but after moving from one location to another, the lights appear positioned high above the rooftops. The issue can be easily replicated switching from Los Angeles international airport to any other location on the map and coming back to LAX. Then you'll see something like this:

Really weird. The first time I totally thought it was a UFO...

Also, there is an issue with the external views of the Extra 330. On both the "follow view" and the "external view", the default camera FOV is always on its max value:

Well it just shows I should dig a little deeper. I wasn't aware of any settings for graphics as that was previously determined by the app depending on the device being used. For some reason, the graphics had defaulted to low on the Air 2. Turned them up high and the city night lights have returned and the object culling is a lot less aggressive although still noticeable if you look for it.
I can now go and do my video of this update.
