End of the world for upgraded Aerofly 2. V 2.3.5

  • The scenery in upgraded Aero 2 now seems strictly limited. In October it was possible to see recognisable scenery across the entire globe, now heading north from San Francisco the scenery abruptly ends at about 42 degrees and 40 minutes north. Beyond this parallel is a pale blue milkiness just below sea level. The NDBs still work but I could not get the ILSs from either Boeing King Co or Seattle Tacoma.

The end of Aero 2 upgrade scenery just south of Crater Lake. The Baron was selected at Seattle to show the ADF receiver frequencies automatically tuned to.

Tracking the site of the Seattle Tacoma 343 degrees localiser 34R inbound, the Renton NDB frequency 353 lies to the north east. The area's localisers were flown outbound and back in again without any wake-ups which would have happened prior to the upgrade.

Past the Seattle Tacoma airport inbound, the Parrk NDB frequency 281 was just switched to and is on the correct 343 QDM to the beacon, Parrk being on the 34R extended back course.

  • Chicago O'Hare International Airport is also in bland pale blue milky nothingness. It seems the V 2.3.5 upgrade has dumped the worldwide scenery and the worldwide ILS database. Anyone planning a long run in Aerofly 2 will need the current Android version or a non upgraded iOS.
Crossing an ocean in upgraded AF2 now, with a 50 to 150 mile possible error and with only NDBs at the far side is still possible but it would be totally unrewarding, there being 100% nothing to see.

Passing TAFFS on frequency 414, track 273 degrees, no ILS.

Passed CHSTR on frequency 394, track 143 degrees, no ILS, no scenery.
