Multi panel - yes
Not quite sure about the auto-throttle, but all AP stuff, flaps, trim, changing OBS, CRS etc just works. My setup is saitek pro flight yoke /quad plus multi-panel. No use having any more in VR. Plus rudders.... oh yeh, plus 3dof platform...
Teah I was thinking multi could be good in VR
Though I can imagine radio being useful in VR too, very tactile and if mounted on/under multi panel should become second nature quick enough. Obviously the displays dont need to work lol
More No than Yes for the Multi Panel. Lights may or may not work, usually don't. AP button is hit or miss, you never know for sure if it will engage the AP. None of the digital numbers work at all. Flap handle and Trim works. Heading works most times.
Radio Panel works as designed. But no method of reassigning functions like in FSX. i.e. Mach Speed, ALT SEL, ROC, DEST. ELEV. etc.
I have an ongoing support request for IKARUS to give the Saitek gear some attention.
Regards,
Ray
My experience is mainly Cessna. No problems there. TBH though in VR i tend to use the mouse for nav setting. Panel does work OK, but because I can't see the selector I don't know easily if I'm changing Nav, CRS, Hdg etc. I do use the panel regularly for: Trim & flaps and the AP buttons.
Presumably the panel is less reliable in other aircraft
Button boxes in general are great in VR compared to rummaging around for mouse and keyboard stuff. Because the buttons are large and tactile, you can put your fingers on them pretty well without looking. I use a small Derek Speare one and it has really been handy since going VR.
