The Cessna 172 or DR400 Robin are the easiest planes to land on the carrier. The Corsair is harder but a lot more realistic - the engine sounds are great. Just keep that stick full back after touchdown and ease the brakes on or you will tip over on the nose. That huge engine and equally huge 4 bladed prop stick way out there on the arm.
The challenge is to land the Learjet45 and then takeoff. Both can be accomplished, but it will take some practice. You have to be ready for reverse thrust the instant of touchdown and you have to plant the nose gear immediately. You need to be as slow as possible about 5 feet when you come in over the fantail. Wind should be max directly on your nose. Spoilers will auto deploy with the RT.
For takeoff, back into position and hold the brakes with full power and 2 notches of flaps. You will not have flying speed as you go over the side but raise the gear as soon as you can and fly in ground effect as you build speed. Raise one notch of flaps and fly over San Diego screaming yee-haw.
Thanks Rodeo, thanks Dave, thanks Javier Fernandez, and thanks IPACS.
