Is is possible to put Utah onto a different drive from the original Aero location? Aero is taking up a lot of space on my solid state 'C' drive and I would prefer to put Utah and any future 'fly over' land onto a magnetic disk.

Loading new regions into a different drive?

Yes,
you can select different storage locations in steam.
Load steam, in the upper left corner, steam - settings, downloads, steam library directory, add another directory there.Your denomiations may be slightly different, because I translated it from German steam interface.

Danke schön Rodeo, will give it a go. I put the original AF(1) on a magnetic disk and it seems perfectly fast and problem free.
Any seconds thoughts on the aircraft carrier? It would look great at the USS Hornet site at Alemeda, even if only as a static object! A working landing deck would be wonderful. -
It is not possible to put the DLCs to a different location compared to the main game. All files have to be in the same storage location.

Sorry to hear that, Aero is getting bigger all the time. Can selected scenery be cut and pasted into temporary non functioning locations?
-
It might be desirable to make that possible. It has possibly 2 advantages. You can put your Windows and AFS2 on different disks for speed, and your sceneries as well. Spread over separate disks could improve speed for people without SSDs.

My plan, when i hit the limit, is to move Steam and all Steam games onto a separate drive. I've read there are tools for that.

Just done it myself as my main drive was running out of space. No need for additional tools, just follow "option two" from this link:

be aware that some titles will try to download again but most of them are fine. Don't know about Aero as I left it alone in it's original folder but moving everything else released a lot of disc space though..

Is there a big block of never used stuff in windows 10 that can be temporarily moved? I am a whisker short of being able to fit the upgrade into a 250 GB SSD. I can remove a single 1.8 GB program but I need a lot more free space.

How much RAM do you have and how big is your pagefile.sys? Maybe you could try to configure the pagefile to a smaller amount. 1 GB for example.
And you could try to get rid of the hiberfil.sys file for the update. After all is done, you can activate it again and set the pagefile back to auto.
But sorry, can't give you a "how to" because my English is too bad. Google should help. -
8 things of RAM and I'll shrink the page file, it might move to a magnetic disk? I'll look up hiberfil.sys file, never heard of it. Thanks JK1895. I feel the PC is close to the goal, once the ridiculous reserved space is free it should be perfectly usable. I've asked if compressing the 250GB SSD will help get me through the 200GB Aero updating barrier.
-
Moving the pagefile is not possible. Only shrinking or deactivating it. But I read that Windows sometimes ignore the deactivation setting so it might be better to set it to a small amount.
Hiberfil file is for hibernation and can be deleted with the right knowledge.
Sorry, I never used the compressing the whole drive feature. So I don't know. My guess is that this feature is useless because game files are mostly graphics and it's difficult to compress them. But I never tried it...For exapmle, my pagefile is 3 GB and hiberfil.sys is 6.6 GB big.

Can a move be reversed later? I have Euro Truck Sim' 2 on my SSD and I would hate to delete it (to help fit-in the FS2 update) and loose all my 'achievements'. I wonder if FS2 could be moved onto a hard disk, updated with the new giant download and moved back onto the SSD if desired later?
