Recording and Sharing

Hi,

This is obviously a nice to have feature. It will help the game to be more viral.

When you pause the game, just offer to record the replay section, (you could even trim it), and once is done, save it/export it as mp4 so you can post it wherever you want, or even offer the possibility to share it in twitter, facebook, youtube (or even WhatsApp or Telegram).

Most of console games are adding these features in their games and is something I feel most of our sims are lacking of. We all love to share that landing, take off, views, etc.. and the easiest the process, the more chances more people will see content from AF2.

Just an idea.

I regret that the recording feature is not available for VR users.

This is a nice idea, one we have certainly talked about in the past. I can't estimate how much work would be required for such a feature but it doesn't sound easy. It may be a lot of work required and there aren't that many users which need this feature. You can easily screen capture with other tools like Fraps and Shadowplay (I think) and then use any of the good editing tools out there. If you want to record a Youtube video you already have a setup for that anyway.

Right now there certainly are more important, more basic features that we need to work on. In the "end-game" this feature might be added later.

I think I know how to make a recording, I use OBS studio with Elite Dangerous.

Different thing, the Replay function however I cannot find in VR even if I set 'Show native view on main monitor' to yes.

It's not there on my screen or I missed something, I don't see anything about it in the replay function discussion.

I asked the question on the replay function discussion because this might be off topic here.

There are certainly more important features to add, and there are also ways to do it through the "hard-way": shadowplay, OBS, etc., but I was just suggesting to do make it built-in within the sim and easy to use.

Anyway, just a idea for 2020.

I own FRAPS and Bandicam, normally Bandicam as been the less FPS hungry with other platform but in the case of FS2, FRAPS win big time. Don't ask me why.

Shadow Play doesn't work for me at all, any of you folks where able to have it work?
