An interesting way to make a bajillion 3d trees with very little Gpu resources.

  • I was talking with some friends about 3d trees and remembered this video and its related tech paper: https://hal.inria.fr/hal-00650120/document

I have no idea if it's of interest, but I always thought it was cool you could do whole forests with shadows on an Nvidia 470

  • Mr Bruneton was famous for these demos and papers (I think he works for Oculus, now) and I believe the main purpose of his work was to show how it could be done, and then let developers and others take it from there.

Even if it only sparks an idea or two, its done its job! :)

All of his work was open source.
