The following pictures show the Aerofly FS2 view (trees set to none) from the place I live near Bern (one of the flat spot in the foreground is our house) and the real view some days ago in the twilight and some weeks ago with snow. The Aerofly FOV is much bigger than the one of a camera. However one can see a little bit right of the middle the hill (Belpberg) that lays in the direction of runway 14 on Bern-Belp airport.
I usually have set trees to none as this gives the most realistic view when flying over swiss terrrain at about 4500 to 5000 feet or above of course. Like this one can see every road, highway. railway track, river and nothing is covered by missplaced trees. The houses and especially the forests have a 3d appearance. Best is to set a noon sun. Only when on ground it looks a bit boring but i am most of the time in the air.

I take too many screenshots in this game..
Nice - no such thing as "too many".

Kodiak Alaska is alive and well in AFS2, thanks to FSCloudPort and FSET/GeoConverter. We have a fully functioning 3-runway bespoke airport for the Coast Guard and Kodiak Island to share and a nice little downtown airport for the Cessnas, Pipers and homebuilts. This small runway even has a water runway just waiting for AFS2 water and floatplanes. Nice 3d effect with the storage tanks on the hill side. Thanks Phil, thanks Rodeo, thanks IPACS.
Regards,
Ray
Here is a direct link to download the main airport. http://www.fscloudport.com/icao/padq.htm
The small downtown airport is PAKD.
Minimal cultivation in this remote region.

I like to introduce Oslo Airport, Gardermoen (ENGM).
It is built with Spit40 s tool fsCloudPort. This is really a wonderful tool and you can design any airport in no time (bigger ones in a bit more no time )
You can download the airport directly here: http://www.fscloudport.com/icao/engm.htm
I recommend to add geoconvertion with FSET (google -1) and cultivation.
Optional a height mesh with 1m. Meshes are for specialists and described in more detail here: Creating terrain heightmaps
Here the 1m MESH really shines, you even can spot the sand hills:

Yes, Thomas' Oslo Gardenmoen, ENGM, is now a classic airport built by a user and totally free. Using all free programs with FSCloudPort Airport Builder as the hub, with scenery from FSET and GeoConverter, 3d objects from the IPACS Library, with additional user contributed 3d objects from LarryLynx, elevation data from Norway and a few additional special touches from Phil. It all comes together with ingenuity, long hours, hard work and lots of encouragement from the FSCloudPort team. Special thanks to Rodeo for getting the ball rolling and blazing the trail, and all the forum contributors that take our wishes and desires and run with them and then tell how to avoid the potholes.
Remember, you still have to use FSET and GeoConverter to build your airport sceneny. Thomas recommends FSET dl -1 and level 15 processing. It comes out an even Gigibyte. These screenshot include custom cultivation.

If you haven't tried cultivation you might want to reconsider. Take a look at this sleepy countryside NE of Oslo, Norway. This is climbing out from Kjeller, ENKJ, a combo military base and general aviation airport in Skedsmo, Norway. Situated in the outskirts of Lillestrøm. This airport was uploaded to fsCloudPort by TomSimMuc. This cultivation was made by Thomas.
You can download it direct from here. http://www.fscloudport.com/icao/enkj.htm

Have you ever visited castle Neuschwanstein near Fuessen?
Just grab the castle from the 3D warehouse with SketchUp_make, convert and place it with ModelConverterX from Arno and copy that folder to an airport nearby.
I recommend to do a Geoconvert with FSET. Use Bing (aka VE) 0 -> 14. Optionally add a Mesh (25m Copernicus) and some cultivation with scenProc.
An ideal airport to start from with your Lear is Memmingen ( http://www.fscloudport/icao/edja.htm )
Approaching via Forggensee
Hohenschwangau comes in sight:
Now go low and greet the castle Neuschwanstein!
