What you are refering to is actually support for reflection maps, they will cause the silver effect you mentioned and this is currently visible in our PC version.
However for the silver effect to work, we usually need two additional textures as well as a cube map. We have not implemented this on mobile
since the pixel shader would get a lot more complex and we would use a lot more texture memory as well.
We might however add it in a future version when we can be sure that more devices are powerful enough.
TTC files are platform specific texture formats, e.g. they are different on iOS/Android ( ETC2 format ) compare to the PC platform ( DXT format ). We are not sure what GeoConvert version is used by Aeroscenery, but one must create PNG files with GeoConvert and then they can be converted to ETC2 TTC textures using our content converter.
We have explained the reasoning in multiple postings already why we don't have airport lights on Android. We do our best to add lights, but we currently have no satisfying solution.
AOB: We can't reproduce this issue. What version are you talking about?
We will have a look at Vienna airport and publish an update once it is fixed.
Keep in mind that on some devices there are less 3D buildings compared to faster devices, due to less performance and memory.
We are still evaluating if we can add more 3D buildings to FS 2022. The performance and memory impact is huge and stability is more important to us.
EDDB is currently not in our nav data base, we will add this airport in a future update.
Ok, we will look at this and publish a fix soon. This is due to an optimization we did to reduce memory usage.
We want: All users should always have the most expensive and powerful devices.
We are currently working on updating the airports that do not have taxi lights yet.
Ok, your Mac is indeed very old. Your Mac probably does not support Metal graphics API, that's why you experience the program crash. I am afraid you Mac is just too old for Aerofly FS 2, so it's better to get a refund.
Could you please tell us some more details regarding your Mac?
The current Android release and the upcoming iOS release will have an option to turn off this button.
Ok, then please contact us at mail(at)ipacs.de, so you can try our beta version. Please provide us with your name and the email you use as an Apple ID.
What version are you using, e.g. iOS or Android and what is the version number.
Please also ensure for testing purposes, to reduce Cumulus cloud density and AI traffic.
If you wish, you can try our beta version for iOS and/or Android. In this case send us an email with your name and the email you use for iTunes or Google Play account.
@Phil747: The main reason that we also call it a 'hack' is the fact that the files between FS 2021 and FS 2022 are not 100% compatible, e.g. FS 2022 features quite a lot of optimizations that weren't present in FS 2021. We also deprecated a few options in the files which might cause really bad performance or high memory usage in FS 2022.
@Aerofly in my face: Thank you. Bug is confirmed and already fixed internally. You will get correct lights again in the next update.
Eduardo190: In Aerofly FS the lighting has an effect on all objects including the airplane itself and also works during daylight to achieve the best visual effects. Aerofly FS on mobile can support around 512 simultaneous lights either from the airplane or the airport. This fact together with the fact that complex airplanes in Aerofly FS feature over 300000 polygons require some very complex shaders ( Some of our shaders feature more than 150 lines of code ). It's those shaders that are not being executed or compiled properly on Android, and to repeat it again, no matter how powerful your device is, it's a GPU driver issue. And like stated before, we are still working on it, so we might find a solution for Android some day.
Please keep in mind that other products simulate certain lighting effects in a simplified manner. This could in theory be added to Aerofly FS as well, but it would actually slow down development as we would have to implement those special solutions on the different platforms. That's why we have decided against it.
