I'd be happy already if Google added a flightsim options as they had in older versions of GE.
The desktop version of Google Earth is still available, and it includes the Flight Simulator.

Yeah but that's all, that cockpit has FSX scenery out the window. I don't believe there is any actual fullscreen cockpit with Google Earth out of the windows.
That's true. But the GE View is so spectacular compared to AeroFly FS2 scenery (outside of the DLC regions) that you really only jump back to the FSX cockpit for landing!
Only videos I have seen don't have a simulator cockpit in sight.
??
In the Tampa video, you see the FSX cockpit at the upper right!
Well, not entirely true: you don't get that scenery in FSX. You can link FSX to Google Earth and use FSX to 'fly' in Google Earth.
Yes, and the effect is you are flying in Google Earth, with the flight model and cockpit graphics of FSX (or P3D). Try it!
Earth Proxy/Google Earth View has been further developed:
1 - Now it uses the desktop GE app rather than the Web application Kevin was using in the Tampa tour video above
2 - Now it lets you use the joystick hat switch to pan around the Google Earth view, as shown in this post:
http://fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/…e-3#post-766019
3 - Now you can run Google Earth on a remote networked PC - a laptop in my case
As I said in my original post, it would be nice if we could link Aerofly to Google Earth 3D scenery like this.
Thanks for the workaround, Jet-Pack (IPACS).
This is still a problem for anyone who wants to fly in FSX after using Aerofly.
I reported this problem back in September.
Anybody working on a fix?
Still more explanation on how Google Earth is put together:
In FSX, it's now possible to fly over Google Earth photo scenery and 3D buildings without downloading tons of tiles.

Wouldn't it be nice if this could be integrated into Aerofly?
May I add my thanks for your dedication, rodeo!
If other folks would like to contribute more airports, what kind of investment in time and tools did Whidbey take?
How long did it take you, and what software tools did you use?
(I am only familiar with Airport Design Editor, but I would be able to learn something else).
Definitely 27 inches or more - 32 if you can afford it.
My 27-inch ViewSonic has 2 inputs, DVI and VGA. Recently the DVI input failed, so I have to use the VGA via a converter dongle. I really don't see any difference. So I would say go for size and high resolution, regardless of the input format.
For those of you who have AMD video cards and are having graphical problems after the last update, an issue with these particular cards has been confirmed. Please be patient while a solution is being worked on. A fix could be prepared as early as the beginning of next week.
I'm one of those.
Any news about the promised fix?
@jchall
I would first suggest that you finish the update posted to Steam yesterday and after the download is complete let us know if you are still experiencing problems. We haven't confirmed that there is any problems with ATI cards yet.
Thank you for replying to one of my questions, drhotwing1 (IPACS).
What update are you referring to?
As I said earlier, "I just finished the 61-GB download (it took around 90 minutes at 8-10 MB/s). Steam showed the installation completed. I re-started the PC (Windows 10, Radeon R9-270). Nada. Still garbage tiles everywhere."
Aerofly FS2 tells me I have Version 2.0.1 EA4.10 (20170406).
My Radeon R9 270 is running driver version 15.301.1701.0
So, have I finished the update you are referring to?
Is there any hope for users of Radeon cards? (My FSX Steam Edition has no such problems)
@drhotwing:
Are you still working on a solution for Radeon graphics cards?
Do you suggest I do a complete uninstall/reinstall?
My Radeon driver is up to date.
I am not doing anything special, I'm just starting the C172 on various runways.
Well, after downloading the sim for the third time , I can report the issues seem to be resolved.
Hmm.

Just to add to your troubleshooting information:
My scenery is screwed up everywhere, not just in Utah.
I have a Radeon graphics card with latest driver.
Thank you for the reply, @drhotwing.
How do I log out from Steam?
I am already in the Beta channel.
Has anybody here received the .82 update?
