KCEC has runways 12/30 and 18/36.
Castle Rock is a National Wildlife Refuge.
From Wikipedia:
"Castle Rock National Wildlife Refuge is 0.5 miles offshore from Crescent City in northern California. This coastal rock covers approximately 14 acres, and rises steeply 335 feet above sea level. "

It should be at the end of the list, not next to the original one. Aerofly sorts the default airplanes first and then attaches the custom ones at the end.
Can you please confirm that the folder is called "c172mod" that the .tmb file is renamed to "c172mod.tmb"?Yes, the folder is C:\Users\Jeff\Documents\Aerofly FS2\aircraft\c172mod, and it contains c172mod.tmb.
And what "list" are you referring to? I only see a horizontal row of aircraft, with only one Cessna 172 in the row.
I gave up, and pasted the new .tmc and .tmd files into the main folder.
-
I followed the new instructions for c172mod, but there is no mod in the Aerofly FS2 Aircraft selection.
How do I select the modded c172?
-
After four tries, it finally worked for me.
I think it failed because my SDK was installed on drive D:, while Aerofly FS2 is on Drive C:

Have tried to use the aircraft converter on the Dr400 to add to FS2, but am getting the following message at the end of the conversion process:
"cannot load aircraft - set Aerofly FS2 Folder in config.tmc"
I found the config.tmc file in my Users/... documents folder and it looks like the Aerofly FS2 folder is listed; yet I'm getting the error message above.
Any thoughts on what's causing this?
Thanks
Me, too. I got this same error message from the Aircraft Converter, but the user folder is already entered in the config.tmc file.
How can we add the DR400 to our hangars?

I opened a ticket for this problem on ipacs.de.
They answered promptly, telling me to
"Please delete the user folder AeroflyFS2 which you can find here C:\Users"UserName"\My documents\
Then try again ".
So I did.
It fixed the problem, but of course all my settings and Jan's mod are gone. And I no longer have a Robin DR-400.
I wish ipacs support would have told me to just remove the problem files, not the whole directory!

I still have the same problem - I can't start on the ground. The C172 starts at 14000 ft. This is whether I start from the Location screen or the Navigation screen.
How can I check whether I have the latest beta release?
-
Did you read the posted solution...? Do you use Esc to get out of the Location page? And not the arrow? The arrow is bugged right now.
Yes, even using ESC to get back to the main menu, when I click START, the C172 is at 14000 ft, and the DR-400 is at 10000 ft.So, it's not just the arrow that is bugged.

I want to fly out of Agua Dulce toward the Lake Hughes VOR (LHS, 108.4 MHz).
But I cannot adjust to 108.4 - it goes from 108.0 to 108.5 using the small knob with the mouse wheel. I have tried with the C172 and the DR400.
How can I set the NAV 1 radio in 0.1 MHz increments?
-
I spoke too soon. After one successful takeoff and landing, and after restarting the PC and Aerofly, I can no longer start on the ground. It starts at 10000 ft. now.
-
I uninstalled/re-installed Aerofly, now everything is OK again.
But there must be a better way of fixing such anomalies?
-
After the new update, I can no longer start on the ground.
In the Location screen I select either the apron or the threshold, but when I Start, I'm at 14000 ft!
Anybody else had this behaviour?

I have succeeded to connect Avare on Android to AFS2 on Windows 10. Make sure to turn off your iPhone's GPS.
-
Just out of curiosity: what would be the use of using these apps with AFS2? Not that I can, because I am using a Rift, but I am just curious.
With Avare, you use real aviation charts and airport plates rather than Aerofly's simplified navigation. Increased realism and challenge.
-
Avare.

Thank you, HiFlyer, for the reply. I am already on the Beta stream.
I checked the manual - there is no way to set an offset for the rudder control.
-
Is there any way to correct my Sidewinder joystick's leftward pulling?
My Sidewinder works fine in FSX Steam Edition, and the calibration utility in the Windows 10 Control Panel shows no anomalies.
So, is there any way to add a rightward offset in the Aerofly controls setup?
-
Does it help if you unplug and then reconnect the device? Maybe the driver software crashed but that could be restarted that way I think...?
Thanks, Jan, for the reply. That's a workaround. Will there be a fix, since this is a bug?
-
Here is the sequence of events:
1 - Boot into Windows 10
2 - Start FSX Steam Edition Free Flight. Microsoft Sidewinder 2 Force Feedback USB-connected joystick is working OK.
3 - End flight. Close FSX.
4 - Start AFS2. Fly. Joystick is working OK.
5 - Close AFS2.
6 - Start FSX Free Flight. Joystick no worky. In Controls Settings it says "Your Joystick has been disconnected".
7 - Rinse and repeat. I have to reboot the PC in order to re-connect the joystick to FSX!
Has anybody else seen this behaviour? Is it a known bug?
