The initial version has most airports of California, Nevada and Arizona.
However we already cover the whole earth with elevation data as well as aerial images. The aerial images have a resolution which is sufficient to recognize details from roughly 20000 to 30000 feet.
The aerial images around our airports however are around 1-2 meter per pixel. You can roughly see that from our screenshots.

Thinking about this strategically, JV at Orbx said that transferring scenery was a fairly straightforward process, probably especially as Orbx has been using photoscenery more and more anyway.
Couple relative ease of transfer and this new Autogen whatsis, and it's probably going to be fairly attractive for scenery designers to transfer existing airports (hey, extra cash from an already completed project!) then surround them with Autogen, especially in limited coverage areas like islands (think hawaii)
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Click on where it says EARTH, and you can get all sorts of views and data.

Honestly it's almost a moot point, because no matter what they do, somebody will point out that its 0.0000000000000000009% inaccurate on sunny days in october at noon when the winds are blowing west at 10,000 feet.
After 10years of trying, through multiple attempts via numerous companies, a totally satisfying whether rendition has never arrived that pleases the flightsim community completely.
I would just say to Ipacs: do your best!

Yes, that's the culmination of the lighting system Orbx have used since their Voz days. Its heavily influenced by the restrictions of FSX technology, and I would actually be slightly disappointed if they used them in Aerofly.
I would prefer a more X-plane type of system, where lights were points of actual illumination that could light up the ground and other nearby objects.
I guess beggars can't be choosers though, but X-plane night lighting really is state of the art.

No screenshots at night, so I guess no added night lighting?
Pictures of night lighting are promised for next week.

That looks great! Thankyou.

Yah, I'm thinking they are maybe Orbx stuff, or part of the Aerofly RC fleet......

Like the original announcement from Orbx about "Project A" this will be another wakeup call for developers out there who are still asleep at the wheel regarding Aerofly.

So they want control, and money, but don't want to actually do any work. Sounds like a sweet deal for them.
I would like to see this post confirmed though, as I can't find the wording anyplace on the web except at Reddit.

In Google Earth VR this is even more obvious: everytime you look around or change the view somehow the scenery is limited to a small circle in front of you.
This is because you have comfort mode active: It's there to keep you from getting motion sick and barfing!
You can turn it off but........ Hope you have a strong stomach.

Ureka!
Still a ways to go on the landing gear. The rear gear needs to turn, the brakes need a little more zap, and the gear needs to retract up into the wings. But......! Its sitting on the landing gear, no longer leaning to one side, tailwheel has a functioning oleo... Progress, sweet sweet progress...
As long as its nowhere near as squirrely as the Extra 330........

Every once in awhile I bump into what I call a "one man wonder" A flight sim created as a labor of love by a single person (with a huge, ginormous brain)
Trying the Project Wingman demo and looking at the video, I'm fascinated by the unreal engine weather/clouds which seem incredible, and would be stunning in Aerofly.
Does anyone know what technique Unreal uses to create such effects? I certainly don't think it's the same one AF uses, and I've always thought that volumetric was supposedly too slow........

Well don't get too close to anything, or you'll be flying misshapen blob simulator 2017.
It is beautiful at the right distances, though.

Fix to the Geneva Crash issue. Honestly, considering the complaints about previous documentation of updates, I'm kind of surprised this info wasn't stickied on Steam yet.

Aerofly plus all DLC to date would actually comprise about 125GB of data, so something is obviously missing on your end.
