LOL. I've posted about it several times, but that was on Avsim.

I think that profile will become very popular! It remains to be seen whether Mike will continue to add features, or if this might become a crowdsourced effort, expended upon by the community.
If I were him, I would consider cleaning it up, expanding and documenting it, then putting it up for sale.

My only concern with any speach recognition software is that you sometimes have to train it before you can use it. And that, for me, is a no go. It should work out of the box without using Microsofts inbuilt speach recognition where I would have to sit there and read text in a "foreign" language. So yeah, it should understand me even if I use German commands or mix it with English commands.
Cheers,
JanThere's an old saying about not letting the "Perfect" be the enemy of the "Good enough".
I don't think there are any flawless speech recognition systems, but do I think the success of VoiceAttack has proven it to be good enough. One thing I have found though with these systems is that the hardware is very very very important.
I purchased a low priced headphone with mic, and couldn't really get voice recognition to work at all. It was a very very frustrating experience, and windows misunderstood me again and again, making me come to the conclusion that the software simply wasn't ready for primetime.
Later, using the apparently very high quality rift Microphone, I found that VoiceAttack suddenly understood me almost flawlessly. Belatedly I realized that not all mics are made alike! And usb mics are apparently the best choice.
Here's a video of Voiceattack working as intended in Elite Dangerous: There are also vids of it understanding other languages, but I suspect strongly things like this will have to be done by third parties. (And I bet it sells like hotcakes)
It is nice to see a proof of concept in Aerofly, though.

So, for months I've been using VoiceAttack with Elite Dangerous, and have thought for quite a while that especially in VR, VoiceAttack would be a dream come true for immersive control in the cockpit, without having to peek and access the keyboard or work with sometimes fiddly mouse interaction.
Several times I wanted to ask the developers about working with VoiceAttack, but I'm aware they don't really want to bring in outside programs, so I figured it would end up being very low priority. (If there was any interest at all)
Enter this guy, my new BFF!
I'm hoping this vid will stir some interest!

First game that's made me seriously interested in purchasing the touch controllers. It would be interesting to see exactly how successfully the developers have utilized them for this sim-game.

On the other hand, I'm concerned Aerofly FS2 doesn't gradually get drawn down the rabbit hole of becoming an acronym-heavy button fest of interest only to a relatively narrow audiences, since that ground has already been covered multiple times. I'm hoping Ipacs will remember to reach for broader penetration than that.
-
Yup, thank you very much.

There seems to be a debate forming "out there" on the internet about Aerofly FS2 "simply" being a mobile port with very little to recommend or differentiate it from the mobile versions.
We can pretty much guess why some people might prefer to feel this way, but it might be good to hear it straight from the designers mouths what the actual current differences really are, and some hint of where things are intended to go in the future.
Thanks.

This company has announced the intent to produce: https://www.facebook.com/BlueSkyStarSimulations/
QuoteA new product which will include all photo scenery for USA (level 17), easy to use. You will get a similar product, when ordered (external hard drive) in which all photo scenery will be installed. So you don't need to have any extra space on your Hard disk. Easy plug in play scenery, preinstalled for you. Hopefully we will fit all USA in 3 parts on 3 External Hard Drives: East, Central, West. All overlay is included (original autogen) so you don't loose any autogen, roads, lights etc. Everything like in default, only with photoscenery. Here is just a tiny bit of Florida. Stay tuned for more news and updates. The new website with a lot of new features will be online soon, after that more updates on products and new products!
This is the second time I've seen a company offering Photoscenery via hard drives or Usb sticks, the first company being Megascenery. I wonder what the prices will look like?
It makes me wonder when we might see the whole US covered by Aerofly.

See, whats overkill for some is the price of enjoyment for others. Spit40 has already purchased a motion platform, and Haleymon is considering it, which means this equipment will likely be used for a number of things, eventually.
-
So, unless I'm missing something, why is the ability to turn the sun glare on and off limited to the VR settings?
-
Helos would be nice, but I'm not sure Aerofly has enough detailed low level scenery to support it yet. Probably would be a lot more attractive option after Orbx has a go at things.........
Or they could go back and add detailed heliports to New York........

Of course, we can't have everything though, and there have to be compromises.
Volumetric clouds I have played with generally have settings that allow you to mess with the transparency and all sorts of other settings to get what a user desires, sometimes to an almost bewildering degree of detail, like this demo from intel I used to play with.
https://software.intel.com/en-us/blogs/20…-sample-updated
https://github.com/GameTechDev/Cl…hive/master.zipOr this volumetric demo for the Oculus: https://simul.co/drifting-truesky-demo-for-oculus-rift/
Or Silverlining: http://sundog-soft.com/features/real-time-3d-clouds/
Then there are the neat toys you find on the web, like this. https://www.shadertoy.com/view/XslGRr
As you can see, I was a big cloud fan, once.

Yes as far as I remember the Aerosoft airbus has autotuning. Depends on the flightplan in the MCDU. Yes the backup compass works there. Its FSX.
Too bad the licensing deal apparently did not include all the sound effects. :p
-
Yeah, I was about to say it is the Aerosoft Airbus: http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=13112&s_design=default&shopfilter_category=flight%20simulation&s_language=english
Mathijs just mentioned on the forum fairly recently that he's never seen their product look better. http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/top…aerofly-2-a320/
