Here are similar photos on the iPad mini 1:

Wow the plane models are better there than what I get
-
That would be a very good idea

Sorry I'm so stupid I forgot to upload the screenshots!

I'm guessing the wings aren't supposed to look like that lol

Hi, since I only have an iPad mini 1 I can't get the special graphics and I don't really know what they look like so I have made this thread to show some of the differences between the graphics I get and the graphics you can get on an air2/6+. There are probably other people who haven't seen the difference yet so hopefully this thread will be useful. It would be great if people could post screenshots stating the device they are using and maybe roughly where they are.
Thanks, Tristan -
because there is the replay feature on iOS you can do the thing you want to film in cockpit view then when you are recording the replay, turn off flight info bar and set buttons to fade after 5 seconds. Then you can have a clear shot of the plane without anything clogging up parts of the screen but you still get the instruments while you are doing the actual flying.

Warper71 your opinion probably comes from a better perceptive than mine, since I've only seen the shadow rendering on lower end devices properly. All I have seen of the higher end graphics are the few photos that have been posted here. You have a point though, the better graphics will simulate light bouncing off the scenery. I'm going to open a thread for people to post pictures of the differences between higher end and lower end devices.

You can remove the info bar and even the buttons and control inputs completely in settings for maximum realism or making videos which is good.

I quite like the flight info bar, and I find it particularly useful on aeroplanes such as the airbus and the 747 that have small instrument displays packed in close together. On smaller planes that have easier to read instruments like the cessna however, I like to turn the info bar off to try and get myself to use the real instruments. The problem I have with this, is that if I am using the navigation feature I have to have the info bar on. I think it would be good if you could select which instruments the info bar shows so that if you only need the navigation function showing, you could have just that, and the rest of the space at the top would be clear. I also think that the info bar is useful on smaller devices such as the iPhone and iPod as you cant see the real instruments very easily on the small screens.
EDIT: In fact it would be even better if the navigation feature could be put on the empty clank screen in the Cessna! Even if it is presented in the same way as it is on the info bar, it would be a good option

I prefer the shadows on the iPod and iPad mini. I wonder why they didn't make the shadows the same on the air 2 as these devices

Wow looking at the background on the air 2 screenshots compared with the backgrounds on the touch 5g I didn't realise the graphics difference was so big!

I have to use it with my poor old iPad mini 1 who is the grand old age of 1 1/2. It basically means that the app doesn't crash for me, and it keeps the frame rate consistent. Without it on I sometimes get a good frame rate, but it is inconsistent and regularly falls to very juddery, but with it on my frame rate stays playable and I don't notice much difference.

I just had a look at this and I didn't notice it looking any different to how it looks on my iPad mini. Below are some pics - does this loom any different from what you get?

That would be a better idea. I know that a most forums have more sub folders than this one, and I think It would be good to have sub folders dividing up the different discussion topics better.

I think its probably to make the sim more realistic so you can't fly along next to the edge of the world. It could be a bit further out though
-
Adak47 I hadn't ever really thought of it like that, with a good realistic multiplayer system where you could fly with your mates, and not just with random strangers but I think multiplayer would be good like that. I think there is a thread on here about multiplayer, but last time I asked IPACS they said it wouldn't be possible due to memory limitations of IOS devices.

+1 for the Caribbean that would be great! I think the HUD would have to be optional, but it is a good idea and works well on competitor sims
-
Of course it would be optional! It would just be another view setting where you can't see the plane, instead you have an HUD
