I think Xanix means that it's much easier to make ortho scenery with Ortho4XP than FSEarthTiles, to which I must agree.

Ortho4XP uses grids instead of coordinates to determine the map boundary. No need to do any calculation or conversion. And it's also much easier to combine separate sessions together. This is especially useful for FS2 as it can only do a relatively small region to avoid crash.

Yes; my friend I already have more than 1.5TB of data on my ‘server’, with ‘grids’ (BI16 to BI19) from all around the world. All of them are “simlinked” to my X-Plane installation.

If somehow, I could convert them to aerofly FS with an easier tool… the current method (FSTiles) is very painful…

    Best regards to all,

Sometimes, I’m able to convince my wife and daughters to ‘fly’ with me. This leads me to a question… Is there a way, to use two independent screens on aerofly F

One screen controlled by me, to fly the airplane and another screen, ‘the passenger’, controlled by another person?

Screen one > computer screen – cockpit view (me) | Screen two > TV – internal/external views (my wife or daughters).

    Best regards,

    Xanix

Currently, I only use my ‘spare time’ on three simulators…

    (1) DCS World: Nevada + L-39 / Hawk T1A / Mirage 2K (no ‘pew pew’… just completing a flight pan, created by me)

    (2) X-Plane 11: ‘Orthos’ from Portugal + Açores + Madeira + Spain + ASK 21 / KA C90 / SR-71 (flying around the ‘Península Ibérica’)

    (3) Aerofly FS 2: Switzerland + California + ASG 29 / KA C90 / MB-339 (‘discovering’ Switzerland and California’s beautiful landscapes)

IPACS has given us already, some great scenery… Orbx looks like is only interested, mainly on airports…

*Don’t get me wrong; I have Orbx’s Innsbruck. It is just superb but, I’m more interested on scenery; some world areas do discover. The ‘New Zealand’ project if done, will be a must have!

IPACS’s aerofly FS 2 already has a great aircraft selection… looks like they have been ‘handpicked’ - 'la crème de la crème'… a great selection…

Well, here is a small number of what I would love to fly too on aFS2…

    Sailplanes:

Duo Discus XLT (the two seaters workhorse glider, to learn the ‘job’)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schempp-Hirth_Duo_Discus

Arcus E (the all new two seaters glider, cross country ‘green’ glider)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schempp-Hirth_Arcus

    Exotic:

Virgin Galactic (when you want to go high, very high; to look ‘Earth’ from above)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Galactic

Solar Impulse 1/2 (the ‘all around’ the world, from your computer project)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_Impulse

    Trainer:

Hawk T2 (the British elegance comes in black)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BAE_Systems_Hawk

    Alpha-Jet E/ATS (no presentation needed)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault/Dornier_Alpha_Jet

*Here is my current selection. There are more, muck more, of course! If interested; fell free to share some of your most beloved aircrafts, you would like to ‘see/drive’ on aFS2…

    Kind regards to all,

    Xanix

I was thinking, as a goal; on making all my country scenery. 'Placing and constructing' all the airports and aerodromes is, well; very time consuming!

As a test, I was thinking on start making my local aerodrome, Braga (LPBR).

«One-hour trip... turn on the airplane/sailplane and take off from Braga; fly to the Gerês mountains. Admire the villages and the view; come back and land on Braga again. Park and turn off the aircraft.»

Right now, I’m studding the wiki and tutorials. I only find the ‘FSEarthTiles’ for FSX application. Can’t we use the X-plane way; Ortho4XP?

Maybe is just me but, I find the Application for X-plane more easy/friendly to use… does it do a good job, as FSEarthTiles ? Is it possible to use it instead?

    Regards to all,

    Xanix

Hi. There’s no problem. What a great job you did on that; from the video, it looks like it worked very well!

Anyway; let’s wait for the aFS2 development and hope, it’s assigned a ‘deeper’ look, on the sailplanes area.

For now, I will fly on aFS2 but, will spend some time on aFS1 Discus (the Discus’s instruments area, somehow; look more photo real then the 29) too.

Oh and Innsbruck is outstanding! Shame, it doesn’t connect to the Switzerland's area... at that price...

    Best regards,

    Xanix

Hello again. ‘Jet-Pack', my friend; thank you very much for your honest reply… so, Innsbruck is a go for me!

I’ve found this ‘youtube’ video regarding ‘aerofly FS 1’ tow plane (mod?!?)...

Aerofly FS 1 glider towing from AeroflySimDE (user)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWeS93v8rkE

Does anyone know who’s this member is? ‘Aerofly FS 1’ forum is gone… where can I find the needed instructions; configuration files?

Once again; best regards to all,

    Xanix

Please note: This is only a proof of concept so far only tested on the PC - DVD version of the aeroflyFS 1.2.05.

This does NOT work in the aerofly out of the box today. In particular this means that this is currently not included, if you purchase the software! Some major tweeks were necessary to get this working. It also disables the winch functionality.

Some sort of documentation on how this towing ability was implemented can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event…0AxNTE1ODUwMjg3

    towing plane:

DR 400 - default aircraft was tweeked to serve the job as an automated towing plane, replacing the original winch.

    soaring plane:

ASG 29 - unmodified add-on aircraft - any other glider works aswell

Hello. If possible, I just wanted to have a question answered...

Currently, for us; who bought this simulator (v1+v2) only for the gliders; is IPACS developing the (winch, towplane or motorized) solution?

IPACS doesn’t owes me nothing but; I just wanted to know, if I can keep investing on this sim with confidence… ‘Innsbruck’ is tempting me for weeks; looks simply superb!

    Kind regards to all,

    Xanix

I'm also missing the Discus bM. It was great fun to be able to start without a winch. That winch is also kinda missing :D
We have a Discus in our flying club (without an engine) and I really enjoy flying it.

From the outside, no it's not possible. The Discus model will need to be updated to the latest requirements, then exported with the Aerofly FS 2 SDK. To my knowledge the model requires quite a bit of work so it doesn't look like we will get the Discus that soon.
I'm going to try convince the headquaters that we need more gliders but I already know their answer: they just don't sell as well as airliners or even GA aircraft.

    Regards,
    Jan

My friend; I would gladly pay 25 Euros, for a “good” Schempp-Hirth’s Arcus M/E.

    https://www.schempp-hirth.com/en/sailplanes/arcus/arcus-m.html
    https://www.schempp-hirth.com/en/sailplanes/arcus/arcus-e.html

There’s something about two seats gliders that I find special…

Well; as me, there’s more sailplanes fans that would love to fly them on AFS2 and the superb, sceneries.
Germany and Switzerland are heavens for gliders users; for real or simulated.

I’m sure new/more gliders would attract, a new bunch of buyers/users of AFS2.

    Kind regards,
    Xanix

*A simple Duo Discus XLT would make me very, very happy!

Hello to all. Currently, I have both AFS1 and AFS2.

On Aerofly FS 2, we don’t have any SLS glider to fly.
Is it possible to add the one, from version 1 to version 2?

I’ve tried to copy it to Aerofly FS 2, airplane’s Documents directory but, it doesn’t show up!
Is it there a way, to make it usable on Aerofly FS 2; some file/config edit/change?

    Kind regards,
    Xanix

Hello to all. I'm a new user of aerofly RC 7.

I'm married, I have kids, so money is scarse; I bought the base version ;) for 39,99 EUR, on Steam. I love scale gliders so, aerofly was my best option. This simulator is something special; the graphics and the models are superb!

Well, I'm a Schempp Hirth's fan; discus, ventus, nimbus, duo, arcus, quintus, I like all of them. Anyway, I think that the Ultimate Edition has a Duo X. Well, that one is a little pricey so, no duo discus for me.

I wanted to know if there's a Duo Discus model made by an user of RC 7? I haven't found any Shempp's model on the fórum.

Well, If anyone has a link to any user made model (from SH), please, let me know. I would be very grateful!

    Kind regards,
    Xanix
