Chernarus? I'm sure I have rummaged those hangers looking for guns and beans.
LOL Different game. Still playing Cherno map in A3 by the way. Map would be suitable for gliding but not for motorised flight.

Well, I expect when you set thermals to 10, they'd be easier to find and maintain. Centering seems nearly impossible. Not by any means I've learnt in real life anyway. So they're probably quite small in diameter. Even when I put then 29 in a 60deg bank, I can't seem to hold it. So, I think it's fair to say that Ipacs should have a look at the way Condor does it.
Agreed René, thermals without wind are almost impossible to center. Im from NL too, our real life thermals are easier to grab
(I fly at Nistelrode)
Thermals and especially thermals under cumulus clouds. Yes that would be awesome. But I think we'll need to wait for the big weather update for that. Imagine thermalling up in front of a rain shower. Then suddenly you hear thounder and it actually scares you... (Not like the thunder and lightning in FSX where you get annoyed by the constant flashes, that's not scary, just annoying) - no I want to actually be scared by the rain front coming to me and the insanely turbulent updrafts in front of it. Then few drops on the canopy... you keep on climbing up to the ceiling where you have to pull the brakes so that you don't fly into the cloud..... Then you managed to escape the shower to the side and fly around it only to be greeted by a rainbow and a constant soft but strong sink Stuff that I experienced about three times now in real life, that was so much fun
.... but yeah cumulus thermals for now would be great!
There's no flying like glider flying...
Honestly, Thermals need to be addressed too. Thermals are impossible to find, and impossible to keep once found. Ofcourse Condor is leading in the industry, and I don't know how difficult it is to make glider dynamics that good. But it would be 'very nice' if it were that quality!
The new update was 'on short final' a couple of weeks ago. I'd say it was barely established on localiser
Nope. There is not. I hope it will be here soon, since I'm a glider pilot and really want that too.
As a glider pilot I'd love to have a good thermal over this place https://orbxdirectimages-owwochgjiuskn0.netdna-ssl.com/products/35/580c0169f381c.jpg
orbx UK
Ofcourse that would also require some extra engine additions since thermals are not yet up to standard. We'd need to get closer to the level of Condor sim. I'm still hoping never to have to fire up Condor again
thank you!
Hi, i'm going to start looking for a new PC.
I want VR of course, so i will get a 10XX card or an RX480. But when it comes to CPU and RAM, does it help AFS2 to have more cores or hyperthreading? And does 16GB help instead of 8, or does AFS2 really use even 32?
I'm kind of partial to AMD and the new Ryzen seems like the real deal. Will 6 or 8 cores make AFS2 run better than 4c8T? Or just 4c?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Will Ipacs release the D400 soon? I'd really love to fly it, but i really cant get to it with the SDK...
Are there any plans for upgrading the working of thermals etc to make real gliding a possiblity?
I don't need a tow or winch yet. I'll just fly somewhere and change airplane. But flyable and findable thermal activity would be really great.
@ ray
you shout these out yourself in smaller aircraft
To be honest, if you get a planes performance reasonably accurate at t/o, climb, descent and landing, that's more important than exact cruise capability. A plane that accellerates to quick or slow is much more annoying. Systems need to be accurate enough to know that what you are changing actually make a believable difference. It does not need to make the exact difference. That's much too complex and in most cases also overkill.
Just wondering, if this is alreadt modelled, why Ipacs has left it turned off for now?
LOL
XYZ, qnh 1023 information echo, righthand downwind via overhead, report bravo, fly threshhold baseleg, you are number 2 report 1 in sight.
So the fastest OpenGL it will be. This also holds true for VR?
Hi,
A question for those who know how AFS2 works under the bonnet.
I'm looking to buy a new PC somewhere this year. Now I'm AMD minded (i like the underdog) and they are coming with Ryzen and Vega.
But... which does AFS2 favour? Will Vega in the future be as good as a 1070 is? I've read that AMD supports the new OpenGL standard (Vulcan), but that in current OpenGL Nvidia is better.
What do we know? And can Ipacs Support say something useful on this?
