I want do make my alpha blending from land to sea, or from green to bleu water a bit more smooth.
In this way (picture) I can do the real alpha blending further out to sea and it wil be from blue to blue so not to be seen.
In this example I created an extra blue layer.
Now wouldn't it be nice if I have a original FS2 sea tile to replace that bleu with
Were can I find one? Or can you give me one?

Yes but consider also that there will be people with double images then, there original bmp alongside the tif.....
-
You just got me before I deleted that sentence
my mistke
For me you do not have to change anything now I know how to handle my tifs.
But maybe you can include it for other newbies.
Thanks for this great app!!

Nobody?
I've done it but I'm not sure if it's the official way.
While "GeoConvert Helper" starts to copy the images from work to "input_aerial_images" I do the same with my tif, by hand.
With one file no problem but it's an island, I think I have to move the tifs before starting GeoConvert Helper, I think.
First attempt with missing tile:

Second attempt with tile and Gimp mask:

After I altered my pagefile everything went well
There is only one little thing and sorry if it's discussed before.
To test the alpha blending of the coastline I did one tile, so I had all bmp's in my work folder and one .tif, I deleted the .bmp

Now when I fly over the area I'm missing that tile, I look and it's also missing in the "input_aerial_images" folder, also no .aic file
Only a .tfw, did GeoConvertHelper forget to copy the tif file?

Wat did I do wrong here?

I also think that it is not IPAC's assignment, I understood from a legal point they have to be not involved but if I made something with e.g. Virtual earth and I publish it at AVSIM, would I be in trouble?
-
Heey, you may think of a sailor with all tattoos and a parrot on his shoulder but we have internet now these days, I followed al GeoConvert discussions and threads, all in and outs and problems. I know you better than you think
But thanks for your intro, if all goes well you don't hear from me..
Ow, one question, some people who succeeded are wondering how to distribute there scenery and yesterday I remembered AVSIM, isn't that a possibility?
-
Fore or against... I'm against that IPACS does this and slow down other things, let users who have the hang of it and already have a full HD do this.
Not me, I start tomorrow or tonight with my first GeoConvert

The sailor has returned home for leave.
First thing I did was a short flight with this fantastic plane, I always fly this turbo props.
At start the engines spooled down so I had to restart and I noticed that in VR the mouse pointer is off to the right.
So with the first attempts to hit the start button I turned right engine to the off position, after I got what was wrong I was up in the air.
Easy to fly by hand, I have to learn more of the systems.. do I? If I do something wrong an alarm goes off
Next thing tomorrow is GeoConvert!!
Thanks!

And still I was afraid he might think he could use "all" ORBX scenery from steam, that was what I thought he asked.
Guess I must not worry so much
-
Jeff is right but...
You can not use all "Orbx Steam based Scenery" in Aerofly FS2
Most of it is made for FSX
-
Just now starting to watch, with my "at sea internet speed" I had to download it first
I myself have to wait another week before I go home and fly it.
Again thanks for the video
-
Thanks!!
-
As you know I'm that sailor at sea without access to FS2, who is the first to make a Q400 video!! ?

The tree carpets are known, there is a tread about floating trees.

And maybe, if man has a lot of files to edit, I should move those files in a different folder, then edit and save them as tiff in the right folder??
-
The ones above the tiff files.

I just realize that I don't have to do this, I changed the location of my Documents folder ages ago from my SSD C:\ drive to my D:\drive
