Anyone know what is feeding the two NAV sources along the bottom of the MFD in the F-15E - TCN on the bottom left and NAV on the bottom right. They are moving/changing as I fly but it is not obvious what they are tracking. I am using a NAV plan generated within AFS2 and manually following the green route at the top right. Can these NAV displays be used somehow as part of the navigation until the first update comes along?
Regards.

Jan,
Any plans to add the open/close canopy feature to the F-15E? How about plans to add flight plan following?

Jan,
Thanks for the conversions. I agree, the conversions are super simple as long as one can recognize the SI unit. Still foreign to me.
I suggest adding a few // to the tmc file for the ones we keep asking about. I did google SI aviation terms but did not recognize these, although I should have. Sorry.
What is the SI unit for QThrust?
Regards,
Ray
Got it: Newton’s to lbs.

Yes - and I also like Dino's plane:

I like it very much and was the one that kept pressing for the landing gear upgrade. Waiting now for some new repaints.

Ray
Do we have a repaint kit for the F-15E Strike Eagle?

Can you convert QThrust][2*129450.0]> to lbs ( s/b 25,000 or 29,000)?
[Mass][28440.0]> to lbs
[MinimumSpeed] [ 61.7]> to knots
[ApproachSpeed] [ 72.0]> to knots

Wow, that was quick. Thanks Jan. Can I change the HDG on the panel? Do anything of the other lighted text items function (bottom 3 rows)?

After all this time I have decided to learn to fly the Aerofly FS2 F-15E. It appears the F-15E is near the bottom of the list for updates and enhancements. Could someone that is familiar with this one in this flight sim post some info about it. I find absolutely nothing in the wiki, nada, zilch, zip, nil. Not to worry, I'm sure someone has a few notes on the limitations, speeds, cautions, etc.
Because we can't vary the takeoff or landing weights, and we can't change the fuel or weapons and external stores, these speeds should be pretty easy to remember. I suppose I could spend the evening trying to translate the data in the aircraft files to knots and pounds, but I haven't had much luck doing that with other planes. Maybe Jan will step in and impress us with his specialist knowledge.
Will the current model follow a flight plan created using the NAV page? Will it hold a specific heading and/or altitude? Can I fly an ILS approach? Are any of the buttons and knobs activated yet? Do the flaps actually go from zero to full flaps with no intermediate setting?
How about specific speeds like, VR, max flaps and gear operating speeds, best approach and touchdown speeds?
I fully realize that we can consider ourselves lucky to even have an F-15E in our inventory at this early stage of sim development so I am obviously willing to take anything I can get. Can someone narrow down the options listed, engines for instance, maybe max takeoff weight, fuel capacity, in the general specs to our AFS2 model?
Is anything selectable in the UFC (Up Front Control) panel? The upper middle panel with the keypad below looks like something should be selectable and useable. I do recognize the HDG and CRS buttons on the right MFD.
Without an operational weapon system, I would expect most of this stuff will not be useful at this stage of development, but who knows?

Thanks. I'm hoping we get the R-22 soon also.

Thanks Jake,
I added some water towers today. Makes a big difference. All these new add ons keep it interesting as we wait for new areas.

Ray
If anyone is interested, I have converted/re textured some radio/water towers from 3d Warehouse. 3D Models: Basic Communication/Water Towers/(etc.)
Jake, Thanks you so very much for your work in providing the user community with these towers. I have been asking for such items from day 1. As with most everything, the more we have, the more we want. These are no exception. I am making good use of all except your skinny legged water tower - it has the shakes and shimmers on my system, but, all the others look great.
Any chance you could revisit the 3d Warehouse and search for a few more models. Here is a composite sheet from a google search. I realize many are very similar and also similar to some of those that you have already provided but, they are also different enough to be different.
Any additional ones would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jake and Ken.

The South Florida TL add-on includes the following:
- 9 flashing airport tower beacons (green-white)
- 109 accurately placed radio towers (actual heights adjusted to 100m increments)
- 7,000 traffic lights (red-green)
- 32 tall building obstruction lights
Quite an improvement. Will encourage more night flying in South Florida. Thanks guys.

Ray
Ken,
Would it be OK for me to try to add some of these towers using your tower package? Maybe create a new one and pattern it after yours? If so, I think I will start with those really tall ones just north of Willis Gliderport.

Hello Ken,
I just downloaded and installed your new Towers package. Wow, this makes a great addition to the already great South Florida scenery DLC. The towers look like they should have been there all along. Thanks for all the creative and hard work preparing all these lighted towers. Much appreciated.
Regards,
Ray
Hey Ken, the alternating green and white tower lights are a neat addition. I like that.
Do you have a list of the different towers and locations? We can ago tower hunting now.

Wow. That is a serious number of buildings.

Hi Ray, the change log was referring to the Learjet aircraft, not the static models.
OK thanks, Jan. Any idea how the users can get the static models? The South Florida DLC uses these new repaints as static models along with a few other updated repaints for some of the Cessnas.
Regards,
Ray
Even though this thread has been silent for 15 months, we are still waiting for IPACS to release the Lear55 static models with the Red and Blue paint. These were first used in the South Florida dlc then at various other existing airports that got a facelift. The orange and white model is really getting old and we need some new colors for the static Learjet 55.
Please help. We could add them to the new update for fsCloudPort to go with the new XREF items.
Thanks.

But, that would only be for the flying models. How about the static models we see in the newest DLC? Those are the ones that I am looking for.

Hmmm. Great. Thanks.
