I don't care about ATC at all.
Ben
We are in the minority I think! Having never used ATC in a sim (or IRL) it doesn't concern me and I'd much prefer weather and/or AI as a priority. But any major addition will of course be welcomed by all

Yeah and it is great, but I do look forward to when IPACS or ORBX add road traffic some day, if possible. Just feel it really adds the feeling of a living world, particularily at night.
Of course there are a million other things IPACS are working on I'm sure with much higher priority, but if ORBX could somehow include it in their areas...
There are a few early looks at the Vive Pro on Youtube, but most, if not all, seem disappointed at the lack of any large scale improvements.
Maybe not a huge step, but the SDE is apparently greatly reduced, that to me is a huge bonus. Plus extra comfort etc. It's more like Vive 1.5 than 2.0, but still a move in the right direction.
Great thanks, I shall keep at it with those tips in mind
I just flew past it, was further away than I should be.
In guide it says when reach 500ft engage AP and NAV mode, to me it seems I rotate and I look at my altitude and I am already 700ft plus immediately.
Also regarding speed, it mentions setting MCT but doesn't say how to.
I rotate at about 107. It says then fly about 140 and 180, I assume 140 until 2000ft for the tour then 180? I find it very hard as before I know it after take off (with N1 at 85%) my speed is over 200 knots.
I know it's a great guide, but I am just very much a noob! Any tips on the above would be greatly appreciated please.
Learjet 45 flight tutorial: https://www.aerofly.com/aerofly_fs_2/d…raft:learjet_45
I am really struggling with this
I don't exactly know when I should be changing to 120 degrees, how fast I need to act etc, basically I can't get in a position to see that Hollywood sign.
Are there any good videos worth following that anyone is aware of?
FS2 is crying out for the Vive Pro!
Oh a copy of that would be great please.
I know OpenVRdesktop is a great tool I use on Vive to be able to have a window open in VR.
Thanks well that settles it then I think, LJ45 it is. Now to work out how to read the tutorial while using VR...
Didn't really realise how small it was. I guess will depend on the price point... and when their next sale is.
I almost always fly the Cessna as I am not a real world pilot but like to do things realistically, and with the Cessna that's fairly simple.
I would like to move on though, mainly for extra speed to take in more scenery, and of coursse for something new.
I have looked at guides for other aircraft, and at first glance they are quite daunting! I'm guessing I should be focussing on the Beachcraft, King Air or perhaps the Learjet (no prop lever or whatever sounds like a bonus).
If I want to do things as realistically as the sim allows, what should I be planting my butt in? I do and will of course mess about with all aircraft at times, but I want something new to really learn the ins and outs of too.
On the subject of VR hands - I'm yet to be convinced how this can work.
X-Plane 11 VR is how!
Though I'd still rather fly Aerofly whatever the controls.
Hands I think are very important, but not over resolution or reduction of SDE. I will be buying the Pro instantly I imagine.
But having tried X-Plane in VR (when it worked, now just CTD each time) the immersion of flicking switches and accurately turning knobs by hand is incredible! Of course you can use you yoke, throttle, stick etc in combination with VR hands, just simply have the Vive wand on your lap.
There is a problem with this though, due to your controls and desk etc, you may not be able to actually reach some controls in VR.
I sacrificed using my yoke and all, wheeled myself back in to the middle of the room and flew purely by VR, it was amazing. After a while I simply forgot my hand was holding the wand and not the yoke, I always kept my left hand holding the yoke with my arm comfortably resting on arm rest.
Ok this isn't simming for the purist, but in some ways it is a more accurate simulation of flying to give up the yoke and literally control EVERYTHING else realistically as you would IRL.
Has anyone seen any pics yet showing SDE side by side or original vs Pro?
Is it missing a mesh or something? Looks so flat...
Or are we waiting for the new Knuckle controllers?
VR Hands using Oculus Touch are coming to Aerofly soon.
Ah, what about VIVE users, anything for us?
I hope with a flexible gloove for a switch ...not more ...i need the option to use my hard-ware rig as now PLEASE, i dont want have my hands in the air ...i need to feel my real stick / yoke/ thrustbar ....
A glove would be perfect, but maybe a long way off?
A least with controllers can use yoke and throttles and have controller somewhere u can grab easy, on top of the yoke base of just on your lap.
...it just can't come close to the awesome performance of AF in VR.
The controls are wonderful though, so I hope this is something in time IPACS can achieve in time. Using every switch and dial is very precise, I even managed a nice 172 landing using the virtual yoke. Though of course you can use real world yoke etc and just use VR controller to manipulate everything else.
I was impressed, but had to have the thing looking pretty dire, and of course no supersampling.
IPACS can rest assured they will retain the flight sim VR crown for the long foreseeable future, but I hope they appreciate and take note of what Laminar has done with their VR control scheme.
Can this not be released as official DLC? Just wondering.
