It seems this is coming next week. Good news about another addon aircraft for AFS2.

You're welcome. I see you catched them up, hiding behind the first ones with number 2!

Big thanks for this @abiatti50
edpatino unfortunatly Flightsim upload are limited to 1Go...
Good to know. Thanks Ray anyway!.

Ray Taburet has released his v2 of the Canary Islands at SimMarket!
Cheers, Ed
Hi Ray:
Thanks for the recent pics. They look gorgeous!. Eagerly waiting for your update.
Your appreciations are correct. Aerofly has big strong points or advantages, like graphics engine, terrain engine (as you said), very fluid with normal FPS well above 100 and most importantly, being those FPS constant (so, no stuttering). Also, it's very simple to setup, use and maintain, and very reliable. It's also important to mention that its VR capabilities are top notch in the business.
The main issue with Aerofly has been in my opinion, the lack of complimentary features like real weather including winds and rain effects, more complex aircraft systems, ATC communications, AI traffic, flight planning, to really be a true and complete flight simulator. So far, if you look at these forums, almost everybody is just talking about the trilogy photo-scenery, geo-conversion & cultivation, so mainly talking about scenery making and viewing, and that's simply not enough (to me!). Even at this point we don't really know if some or just part of the above mentioned features will ever be implemented, since so far IPACS has been reluctant to release a roadmap for AFS2, and all progress, measured by the addition of those features has been extremely slow.
We also need that more developers jump into the game to produce add-on scenery, aircraft, etc., to complement the sim, as has always been the case with FSX and now P3D and X-Plane. So, I'm really excited by the fact that you like AFS2 and expect you'll be able to stay in and produce more detailed scenery in the future.
Of course, I can be wrong, but this is my true feeling!.
Cheers, Ed
Canary terrains will quadruplicate resolution in the next update.
Looks wonderful, Ray!. When do you think it'll be released?.
Thanks, Ed
Now if someone could create high quality Airports for the Canary Islands that would be great
Agreed. MK Studios is producing very nice airports in the islands for P3D, for Aerosoft I believe. Maybe they get interested to do something for AFS2.
Cheers, Ed
aerofly fs2 work well with high res mesh; now we are going to carve further into the Canary islands terrains; those crucial features characteristic of those islands; walking tracks; roads; and cultivated terraces; bring them out as much as possible
Did you mean good news???
Thanks, Ed
Hello Ed ..
of the canary islands scenery at simmarket ?
Yes, but not a fault of the developer, it's the way the islands are by nature, very hilly. What probably the developer could do is to flatten out the ground at the airports, to a much higher mesh resolution (to a lower value), but we'll be probably asking for too much.
Cheers, Ed
GCTS and GCXO should be worked on creating the ground correctly. Taxiways have bumps. I tried with a conversion. would work nice, if the ground would be OK.
I fear it will be more than just these two airports. The whole islands are very irregular in height, so a flattening of the ground at the airports locations is necessary.

Btw, please check the thread
T minus X days until Apollo 50!
Will do, thanks!.

Airports may be added from FSCloudport
Hi Rodeo, how are you?.
I fear the general buildings cultivation of the islands are colliding with any airport building that we may add using AC3D or FSCloudPort.
Since I was a bit out of AFS2 for some time, I don't have any ideas on how to avoid this, except that using exclude files that should be processed during the cultivation generation. Suggest trying out GCXO to see the issue.
UPDATE: Just contacted Taburet and he mentioned airports exclude files were processed with the general cultivation. Anyway, he's looking into the issue. Really rapid support from him.
Btw, excellent work by Taburet. I flew around two islands yesterday evening and the views are stunning.
Cheers, Ed
Look for this. Regretfully it doesn't have a single detailed airport:

Not sure if this is revelant here but over on the Orbx forum they are touting a new global HD buildings release for FSX/Prepare 3D.
This is a product being developed by ORBX for more than two years. Hopefully it'll be released soon and it's not a performance killer for FSX/P3D.
Cheers, Ed
+1
I'm probably being a bit silly here, but where is the service pack? I'm not seeing it on my account on Just Flight..
It's a completely new installer, not a patch, not a service pack that you can install on top of the existing version in your computer. Previous posts are confusing. You should download the new installer in case you bought the Duchess before last week, uninstall your existing Duchess and re-install everything using the new version already downloaded. That's all!.
Cheers, Ed
Great update, but the parking brake doesn’t work at my place, am I the only one?
The parking brake lever is just to the right of the engine control levers. The lever works Ok, but it has no effect in effectively braking up the aircraft, so you're not alone.
Cheers, Ed
Why air berlin though, they're no longer flying
I don't think American Eagle is currently flying the Q400 either, but it would be a nice livery.
Cheers, Ed
American Eagle and Air Berlin will be most welcome!.
Cheers, Ed
Not really a Service Pack, but a completely new version. I suppose everyone will have to do a complete reinstall.
