Wow thanks very much. Just enjoyed some low speed ridge soaring in Switzerland flying this beauty. What a great addition to the fleet.

No didn’t crash. My other third party planes are ok. I tried changing location but still get the Cessna.

Just noticed that the f104 which did work perfectly on my setup now defaults to the Cessna when loaded. I haven't changed anything so a bit of a mystery?

Just had one very quick flight so far. A superb piece of work. Thank you for all your hard work. Really looking forward to my next flight.

I have got one of these controllers. Although expensive I can recommend for use with an IPAD. This effectively gives you a joystick with more precise control than can be achieved by either tilting the screen or dragging the onscreen controls. Plug the IPad in to your tv and sit back in your comfy chair with the controller!

The Steel Series Nimbus is a fully functional wireless controller that works with many apps including Aerofly Fs2 on IOS. Whilst tilt to control is ok the controller makes it a much better experience because you have an effective joystick. I am not sure if it works with Aerofly 2019 though.

It’s a shame about the iPad Air 2 being non compatible as this is surely one of the most widely used of the later generation models and having only recently been discontinued by Apple. The pro models tend are considered to be more niche as products as they are so much more expensive. We have three IPad Air 2’s in our family and I would have bought a copy of the new Aerofly app had it been compatible. It does look great though and I hope it does well.

Good news-I have just updated to IOS 12 and the nimbus steel controller works again properly with Aerofly FS2 (mobile version) on my iPad Air 2.

This has been well worth the wait. Superb work in every area-congratulations. I can’t stop for long as I am about to takeoff from Alcatraz heliport!

Funnily enough Aerofly FS1 has a kind of 3d dynamic water alongside the familiar othophoto based scenery. I still use it and it’s great.

Unfortunately I could only capture this in-monochrome due to attachment limitations. The dome shaped lights appear in different colours above a much smaller light located in the centre of the runway.

I get this now-daylight flying in the San Francisco area.

What a superb piece of work. I have just had my first flight over the island in the Lear Jet. Absolutely brilliant -already a favourite
Many thanks

As the forum is regularly monitored by the developers including for the mobile version, I think it is fairly safe to assume that this issue which several users have identified has been added to the list for further consideration. In the meantime I remain a great fan of the mobile app. ( when I am not using the PC version!)
-
Just for further clarity, the nimbus is an Mfi compatible device that works with my iPad Air 2 superbly via a Bluetooth link. It previously worked perfectly with the mobile version of Aerofly fs2. Since the upgrade late last year, when the nimbus is switched on, some of the screen controls that normally appear in AF2 disappear but the actual controls on the nimbus no longer work. This suggests that AF2 recognises when the nimbus is connected but can longer reflect the control inputs. I may be wrong but this issue suggests a problem with the App. Incidentally when it worked, the mobile version on the iPad connected to a TV and using the wireless nimbus provided a very credible casual sim experience as an alternative to firing up the full desktop sim.

I think that this problem is worthy of a reply from the devs. I bought a steel series nimbus controller at the cost of £45 when I learnt that the mobile version was specifically listed as being compatible. Believe me, it was a very worthwhile experience compared to the usual methods of mobile control. I can’t believe that the removal or suspension of this functionality is anything but an oversight. Please can we have it back?

I am not sure that I have detected the changes between the two versions that you have referred to, however for me the windfield simulation has two benefits. One, is that is a good training aide when it comes to understanding ridge lift and simulated wind flow. Secondly, it also represents a good substitute for real world cues.
Thanks
