Yes. (And btw, the unknown sources recommended in the support doc is set to allow. And has been from the start. Otherwise probably universe Sandbox wouldn’t have worked.)

This used to work. Unfortunately I can pinpoint the date it stopped. Sometime in the last month.

I hate to do an un/reinstall - you know that rarely works - it’s usually the last resort. There’s no oculus side log that might give some idea of why fs2 fails but universe Sandbox works??

No switches as far as I can tell on either steam or fs2 (checked via properties > ... both at the w10 level and fs2 level inside steam). Here's my tm.log ( says "failed to initialize ovr", which is the only thing I can see and vaguely understand. Just FYI, my oculus was up at the time and working fine!)

I'm trying to get the log (network connectivity issues) but in reading the log, it looks like it's trying to use SteamVR instead of the Oculus. (It gets a SteamVR Error 308 key component missing!) But why is it trying to use SteamVR? I've ensured multiple times that I'm telling it to use the Oculus, not SteamVR, so wtf?!

Yes, I have ensured that I have all the latest updates, and it won't start in Oculus VR mode. It does't exactly what the OP on the previous thread described. I don't think that whatever he thoughts was his problem, supposedly resolved by the update, was the problem, or else I have a different problem. (Ps. I'm not criticizing closing the other thread. I'm just saying that the reason I started a new thread was that the old one was closed, just to head off people telling me: This was already resolved in this other thread. Yeah, been there, seen that. Still have the problem.)

I don't have a great mental model of how FS2 interacts with the Oculus, but I used to use it just fine, starting from Steam and telling it on the 3-part pop up menu to use the Oculus (other) VR, but now it just starts up (steam says it's running) and then silently crashes (steam says it's not running). I've tried this with and w/o starting the Oculus software first. No diff, and starting it from the Oculus library appears to do exactly the same thing (although from inside the oculus) -- starts, then just immediately crashes. All my updates are up to date, I think. Is there a crash log someplace I can read. (I'm on W10, all latest updates to everything, as far as I know.) Thanks!

I fly the ASG29 glider a lot in the oculus. I usually use the xBox game controller, but there seems to be something wrong with the dpad mapping. The control settings all display correctly on the control panel. That is, I set the air brakes on the L/R and nose trim on the U/D on the dpad, and everything lights correctly up when I click it on the controller. However, it doesn't work right in flight. The air brakes are always mapped to dpad u/d no matter what I do, and nothing seems to be mappable to dpad l/r. I'm on all the most recent software, as far as I know, and I've tried numerous variations of this. It's flyable w/o nose trim, but a pain. I'd love to get this fixed. (Of course I could put nose trim someplace else, but then .... dominoes!)

    Thanks!
