Indeed the link is dead.
However you only need the xref_lib_water_towers.zip if the scenery contains a water tower.
This is extremely rare, so you probably want miss anything if you don't install that file.

Click on attachments, then upload the pictures one by one.

After downloading JOSM, https://josm.openstreetmap.de/
and importing / downloading the OSM region, press the building icon and draw a rectangle over the house in the background image (here Bing)
But this is not my thread and i do not want to hijack it.

Also JOSM can place buildings. Directly in the OSM file.

My main.mcf is located in USERNAME\Documents\Aerofly FS 2
Is there any other log, which would be useful for you?

I tried it with the EC135.
However I have a problem to synchronize the time by pressing the "Set realtime" button:
the time is also not set in the main.cfg file.
Maybe I do something wrong?

Did you accidently activate Remote-Play or Broadcasting in Steam?
Some years ago I did so and it took me weeks to find out the cause for the stutters.

You can generate a desktop link via Steam like this:
or for VR you generate a link on the desktop with this entry:
That will start the game directly with steam in the background.

Yes updates and purchase history works good.
It works far better and faster then the DVD alternative.

Andy, if you install the east frisian scenery with the given mac path does it work for you?
The path is taken from the wiki.
Installation on MAC:
Unzip, than copy /places and /images to: /Users/.../Library/Containers/com.aerofly.aerofly-fs-2-
mac/Data/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 2/addons/Scenery/east_frisian_islands
