Hello Admin,
thank you for offering help.
I took the example bouncing_ball_03 from the Autodesk 3ds/scenes/animation/auto_key folder.
Exported it sucessfully
and converted the resulting .tgi file with this tsc
Code
Display More<[file][][] <[tmsimulator_scenery_place][][] <[string8][type][object]> <[string8][sname][Bouncing]> <[string8][lname][Bouncing]> <[string8][icao][]> <[string8][country][]> <[string8][coordinate_system][lonlat]> <[vector2_float64][position][18.16240985 52.47533689]> <[float64][height][0]> <[float64][size][500]> <[vector2_float64][tower_position][0 0]> <[float64][tower_height][0]> <[bool][autoheight][true]> <[string8][autoheight_method][]> <[list_tmsimulator_scenery_object][objects][] > <[list_tmsimulator_scenery_object_animated][objects_animated][] <[tmsimulator_scenery_object_animated][element][0] <[string8][geometry][animation/bouncing_ball3]> <[string8][animation]animation/bouncing_ball3]> <[vector3_float64][position][[18.16319050 52.46234455 0]> <[float64][rot_in_degree][180]> <[float64][duration][0]> <[float64][time_scale][1]> <[bool][autoheight][true]> > <[list_tmsimulator_runway][runways][] > <[list_tmsimulator_startposition][start_positions][] > <[list_tmsimulator_parking_position][parking_positions][] > <[list_tmsimulator_view_position][view_positions][] > <[list_tmsimulator_scenery_cultivation][cultivation_files][] > > >
and the standard content_converter_config.tmc
Code
Display More<[file][][] <[tm_config][][] <[string8][base_output_folder][./]> // if this is empty it defaults to "C:/Users/USERNAME/Documents/Aerofly FS 2/" <[string8][texture_base_type][ttx_dxt]> <[list_tm_config_folderpair][folder_pairs][] <[tm_config_folderpair][element][2] <[string8][input_folder][./]> <[string8][output_folder]./]> <[string8][type][place]> <[uint32][recurse_level][0]> <[list_string8][file_types][tsc tgi jpg bmp tif png toc ]> <[list_tm_texture_settings][texture_settings][] <[tm_config_folderpair][element][0] <[list_string8][regex][.*]> <[bool][compressed][true]> <[bool][compress_file][true]> <[bool][flip_vertical][false]> <[bool][mipmaps][true]> <[uint][max_size][2048]> <[bool][make_square][true]> > > <[tm_config_geometry_settings][geometry_settings][] <[float32][collision_mesh_quality][0]> > > > > >
The result is a bouncing_ball3.tmb not tma. It is shown correctly in the scenery but there is no animation.
Can you see the fault or give me a working example code?
I know I need a .tma and .tmb in a folder called animation.
Thank you,
Thomas

Hello admin,
I would like to pep up my own airports with animated objects. There are several examples existing, where they already appear:
IPACS: Jason & Jeniffer
ORBX: Trains, persons and baggage lorries
Aerosoft: Windmills
Could you please give some help on this, i.e. a short tutorial how to design those?
Maybe you can derive it from the instructions you gave to ORBX and Aerosoft?
Thank you in advance,
Thomas

I had the same issue yesterday: no joystick recognized, this includes two different Logitech devices.
The problem arose on 4.5.2018 11:00 UTC.
It took me more then 2 hours to find a solution.
It was steam related, but did not affect FSX steam, only AFS2.
What helped for me was:
1. Deactivate the steam beta program
2: Switch to big mode (controller symbol)
and press
3. then "switch off Controller"
- leave Big Picture mode.
It is also importanat to check if "Generic Gamepad Configuration is unchecked, as jinx099 wrote, but this was not the case in my situation.
So I think it is a problem which affects the combination of steam and AFS2 (but not other steam games) and IPACS should have a look into the cause.

Thank you Jeff for the update

Hello Racoon_85 and flightxtreme,
you really mode very nice shots. Could you please publish them in a bigger size?
To circumvent the 1MB limit you could do this:
Download the free GIMP 2.10: https://www.gimp.org/
Make your screenshot as big as possible (1920x1080).
- File / export as
- select jpeg
- change quality to 90
- export
This will reduce the full picture size to about 850 kB.
Choose Insert Original.

Thomas

Thank you GACSavannah, very well done!

Hi Ken,
elevation files with 1/3 arc sec or 20 m resolution only make sense from 6-12. If you can get 1m elevation files, I would convert from 6-14

Hi nickhod, a typical FEST picture is written concenated with a typical file size of 700MB, 13000 x 19000 pixel.
This size can easily manipulated with photoshop or Gimp, even 5 of those at the same time. So I would make the pics bigger then 4096 pixels.
You are indeed right, that those tiny pictures in a huge amount can not be manipulated sensful.
So I would suggest:
download the pics, concenate them, allow a stop for color correction (optionally) and then continue by converting them to AFS2 files.

I have done the elevation data for US_Hawaii_O'ahu and Molokai. They are 1/3 arc sec resolution and source is USGS.
As soon as a general directory for this project at Higgy exists, I can upload it there.
Rodeo, do you already know something about the project location?

Hello Kisvakond, I also would second to priorize automating the processing of USGS data for geoconversion (a USGS Helper if you wish to name it).
Because the most demanded feature for new user created airports is to have underground scenery. As USGS is allowed to be used, this would be the ideal source, but too tedious to convert those data manually.

Hello Vogel69,
wow, that looks great! Isles of light in the evening dust ...

Hello vogel69 ,
I think this is partially a caching problem.
Sometimes this helps: Load an airport 1000 km away.
Close AFS2. After opening it again, load the original airport with the levitating buildings.
When in a level 7 DEM area, did you try to also generate 9,10 and 11 in addition to 12-14?
In general I think, for a 30m MESH, the max resolution should be 12.
Only for a 1m Mesh it makes sense to go up to 14.
For comparison: The LOWI ORBX Mesh includes 10+11 only.
