is there a way to find our where the dlc stops or do I have to go in game and do trial by error. I just want to finish the USA off right now. I have part of the South East done.
-
i don't wanna map over dlc land- but I want to map out the USA so I can fly cross country. Will dlc land override the mass files I upload
-
So i got a 1 tb harddrive just for the geo tool- i installed aero fly 2 on it but when i use the geo tool i have to put everything into the my docs folder on the c drive for aero fly- is there a way to to tell the game to search a different drive for these map image locations.
Example- i have the geo tool and the game installed on the G drive- and i want the game to search for the images on the G drive not C:\Users\Thispc\Documents\Aerofly FS 2\scenery\images

admoore63 Cheers mate!
I just download the program but could you do one thing for us beginners. COULD YOU PLEASE MAKE US A VIDEO TUTORIAL on how to make and put these files in the game- alot of us are lost- and i feel like your tool will help us who are lost finally get started
-
im having issues with the inf2tfw converter- a vid tutorial would be amazing
-
i made a post on this- also when are we gonna be able to share the scenery
-
This is aimed towards the vets- but since we dont have a share scenery thread yet- could one of the vets possibly upload a youtube tutorial on how to use the geo tool. I am reading over the tutorial and wont have time untill next week to really play with it-but a video tutorial would help tremendously for us visual learners
-
We are still reviewing copyright limitations and options for this, but it's unlikely that there will be a download section for user created scenery hosted directly by IPACS. It's more likely that a user will host this in the future on an independent server.
we need to find some way allow people to share- what about the rules that protect youtube and steam workshop
-
can we please get a share forum. I would love to download some of what people are making. I'm gonna try to make south Carolina next week and would happily share what I make if it's good

USGS is a fantastic organization.
I just copied these lines from the metadata of an 1m-image:
<accconst>There are no limitations for access.</accconst>
<useconst>None. The USDA-FSA Aerial Photography Field office asks to be credited in derived products.</useconst>
Of course I'm happy to give them the credits they deserve!
You may try this link to the map viewer, where you can select NAIP imagery:
https://viewer.nationalmap.gov
Rodeo
so does this mean youll share your work with us to put in our games

The disclaimer posted on the Wiki is derived from legal opinion based upon American copyright law in order to protect IPACS from any user misuse. If you choose to share any sceneries made using FSET, that's fine, as IPACS has only released a tool to convert aerial imagery from ANY origin into Aerofly FS2.
its not from a wiki- its from their terms and conditions page

we should able to share anything you make with no legal issues, its all public domain if ur getting it from USGS
"USGS-authored or produced data and information are considered to be in the U.S. public domain." The satellite imagery is fair game guys the images on the site arnt but the satellites are. We just need to credit them
"When using information from USGS information products, publications, or Web sites, we ask that proper credit be given. Credit can be provided by including a citation such as the following:
Credit: U.S. Geological Survey
Department of the Interior/USGS
U.S. Geological Survey/photo by Jane Doe (if the photographer/artist is known)"heres the link https://www2.usgs.gov/laws/info_policies.html
