Have you tried a full uninstall of NVIDIA using this tool: DDU followed by a clean driver only install.

I am 5.2km away from the exchange and have slow speeds full stop. Thanks anyway

Melbourne checking in. I've found that the local Steam CDN's are really slow, and I always switch to Indonesia or Singapore in the steam client when I download. I've got NBN, and the difference is x10. Might be worth trying...
Thanks coffeecup1978 for your advice, unfortunately our suburb has copper phone lines (we are in the dark ages)

Canberra!!! Went there once and froze, mind you it was winter. Your broadband line is probably covered in ice Jim.
And in summer it's stinking hot

Download completed Well done IPACS, the scenery is gold

If you follow the tutorial here scenery creation you should be able to do it.
I also found the people posting here quit friendly & helpful.

Nice, have you created any scenery around there as yet?

G Day Jim,
I have a fast PC mate except our ADSL connection/speed is crap (Australian Problem) - bloody thing was close to being finished and then had to re-start. Usually STEAM continues from where you were after a re-boot/re-start.
I will take your advice and give flashget a go, thanks for the heads up

I started the update the day before yesterday, continued with it this morning and had about 1.5hrs to go. I came back to the PC this afternoon to download the last bit and it now indicates I have to download the whole lot again. 17.4GB
This is ridiculous. It seems once you have downloaded part of an update and IPACS make a change and add another piece to the update, the bloody thing starts from scratch not a happy chappy at the moment.

Kloot - Some feedback on alpha masking coastlines and the pixelly edge problem. See these two pieces of screenshot taken while flying. The first is the problem we've been having. In the second I did a very quick paint with a sea colour along the edge of the coast. Its a wavy inexact line but looks a bit better. Unfortunately a single block of sea colour still creates an obvious transition when up against the background multi-shaded sea.
Thanks Phil, I will give the image a quick paint along the edge

Rodeo - I added the images_raw line but got no raw images. Does the write_ttc line need to follow it immediately? There is a line like that there already higher up in the script but I didn't think the order would make a difference.
I use the GeoConvertHelper tool and follow the WIKI instructions yet I am still not able to get rid of that jagged edge. I have no problem with creating scenery other than blending coast lines

Well on investigation it seems my Gimp delete shape was 100% hardness but I found after really zooming in that I was still getting feathered edges and therefore semitransparent pixels. After a lot of head scratching I found I needed to set "hard edge". I think the Gimp version used for the tutorial might be different to the latest download. One more for the checklist.
You need to click this image to see where it is ticked.
I have tried every setting in GIMP and I still get this jagged edge.

Perhaps a troubleshooting FAQ would be helpful where all these little learnings could be captured.
A trouble shooting guide would be great

We'd need something like a AC3D Airport Tutorial, similar to the one already posted for 3DSMax in the wiki section. As somebody already has mentioned already, it's hard to pay US$ 600 - 1,300 to place a runway/object in an airport.
Cheers, Ed
