yeah I was aware of that, saw it in air crash investigations.

do you think that this was enroute or at the parking gate ? as much as i admire this little guy for his amazing knowledge of the Airbus i think it is pretty dangerous if it was enroute.

hi Jeff
just an update, so i went as per what it asked to download and went through the motions and after about 2 hrs it downloaded (i think missing files) and then everything was there to click, and the best part is i did not lose anything, even the exact same spot where i was last time in the 747 was still there and all my photoreal files etc were still there.
So it was some weird quirk from steam.
-
yea looks like a steam issue will report back to any solution
-
found this on another forum
Go on the account giving you problems with the options being greyed out. Open up the Steam folder, and navigate to the steamapps folder. Open that up and see if you have an .acf file there for 7 Days To Die, and any other games giving this issue.
The .acf file is the file that tells Steam your game is installed, and therefore, without that file, Steam options will be greyed out due to Steam not "seeing" the game as installed.
The .acf file number is the same as the number at the end of the URL on the Steam store page for that game. -
hi Jeff
I did exactly what you said i get the message as per the above post "install AFS2..."
-
-
its all there but steam is telling me to install
-
yes logged into steam then logged off, then logged back in, yes did try AFs2 and i got that "install AFS2" message see my post above for a picture, yes all files and folders regarding AFS2 are still in steamapps.

hi Jeff
Yes so first i have AFS2 on my flightsim computer (this was about 6 mths ago) I then also installed (through steam( AFS2 on another computer about 2 weeks ago (slower computer) to test my runways, now when windows did an update on my flightsim computer (original one) when i went to play AFS2 the icon is all greyed out.
Do you think I should just click the icon to install ?
-
only other game greyed out is MSFSX that has been greyed out for a while don't know why that got greyed out either.
-
i have AFS2 installed on another machine, does that matter? Maybe i can only install it on one machine?
-
when i click on the desktop icon it says to install Afs2, also i checked beta was never in beta and it says i am opt out
-
i had a windows update and reboot, now when i go to steam to click play it is telling me to install AFS2 and it is all greyed out, i checked the file directories and everything is there, but steam is telling me install game, WTF ?

yeah and imagine being able to import google earth scenery in 10 year time and have smooth frame rates

with the quality of the default aircraft AFS2 team is offering us who needs add on payware aircraft, i certainly hope AFS2 does not go down the path what Micro$ft did and to get anything of good quality you had to pay and buy an addon.
AFS2 only need to do small updates like have a functioning FMC and stuff like ATC and SID STARs and I will be happy.

thanks Jan, yes alot more steps than what the current approach mode offers. but it is ok i can do what you suggested for demo vr purposes.
-
Currently there is no option to change the distance to the runway.
What is the reason why you want to increase the distance?
hi jan
As there is currently no option to replay flights I was thinking of using this option for demo purposes in VR, as the plane is all configured the person can just put the Oculus Rift on and enjoy the approach with that awesome photo real textures out the window, currently the ac are too close to landing so cannot really sit and experience the situation.
Thomas said about setting your approach wherever you want but then you will need to go into Oculus configure the plane property, flaps, landing gear, ils / gs etc, you don't need to do any of this if you chose the the approach phrase now.
