My name is Michael too, maybe that's the common link.
I have to admit my realname is Michael.

Some time ago I tried to make scenery in the northwest area, the islands, Wilhelmshaven, Bremen. I got the same issues. I spend weeks in trying different settings, levels, map sources with both available tools but ran into the same problems again and again until I stopped because Ilost my motivation. To avoid any possible mistakes, in my very last try I generated all possible levels for a larger area in once with AeroScenery in one huge process which let my Ryzen 7 calculating for a week at max workload - and I got the same frustrating result again.
So, if somebody finds a solution for this issue, I would spend a beer or two
Made some different checks. If I open my content_converter_config.TMC from context menu with content converter tool, it results in the above described errors.
If I use Powershell with the command "%ProgramFiles%\Aerofly FS 2 Content Converter\aerofly_fs_2_content_converter.exe" ./content_converter_config.tmc then it works without errors.
It's the same and unchanged converter config file
That was my first thought, too. ButI opened the "content_converter_config.tmc" file from inside of my project folder. And I didn't change the input folder config in the tmc , it's still <[string8][input_folder][./]> I changed none of the dir config entries.
In my project folder there are only the tgi files for ryw/decal/obj and their related texture tif files. No other image files like thos png.
I searched for those files, they are from the C:\Windows\System32 directory. Where could the converter tools gets this path from?
Hi,
today I tried to follow the videos from Karl-Heinz and created a very basic runway. Now I tried to convert it with the content converter tool from the SDK. But I get error messages like
0.08: converting folder = './'

and so on... It is very confusing to me, because I don't use any of these files in my project. The names and sizes sound like Icons?!
I have no ideas...
That's it! Thank you very much for spending your time and helping.
I followed the wiki tutorial, but just did not recognize that the converter output is in reverse order to the expected converter input.
Maybe that hint would be helpful for the wiki tutorial for newbies like me.
Hi there,
I tried to use the Geoconverter Tool and to get familar with it but it doesn't work. I choosed a small german island and followed the wiki tutorial. I also read many forum entries and the "Having troubles with the geoconvert tool; please read" thread.
What I have done so far is:
- I generated the tiles with the FSET tool
- I noted the top-left and bottom-right corners from FSET and converted them
- I edited the TMC file and inserted the coordinates for every level. I left the destination folder pointing to .\scenery\images
- I copied the .BMP and.INF files to the GeoConverter input folder
- I used the the inf2tfwConveter to generate the .TFW file
- Finally I ran the GeoConverter tool from PowerShell with the .TMC file as command paramter
The converter runs upto the 100% completion message.
But there are no output files in the .\scenery\images folder. I followed the tutorial several times but can't find the mistake I made
Maybe some of the more experienced users here can get what I am doing wrong?
In attachment you'l find my TMC file and the converter log file (I renamed to .txt because the .tmc/.log extension is not allowed by the forum).
Best,
Michael
Also just got that small update and it works again! Thanks
Steam had an update today on startup. But other VR apps are still running. I send logfile via mail.
I have the Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset and I am using SteamVR. As mentioned above it already worked yesterday.
If I activate SteamVR, the AFS start button switches to "Start in VR" automatically. If I don't activate SteamVR before, I can choose between normal mode, Oculus and SteamVR and I select SteamVR.
Also tried Windows Restart, Steam Restart, Windows Mixed Reality Drivers Reinstallation.
Hi there,
got my headset yesterday and installation worked well. First VR experience in Aerofly FS was nice Today I tried again but the sim just starts in normal mode. In my headset I only see the waiting/loading window.
Any ideas?
