If you have the South Florida DLC, you might want to try this free tower lights + traffic lights add-on that enhances the night flying for that DLC ...

Will this also be too many pixels - or will it work great with AFS2?
It will probably work great with AFS2 if you have a GTX2080 or better.

5120 x 1440
That's 7.3M pixels that your 2080 will have to push which is 2 WQHD monitors side-by-side (2550x1440). Aerofly will probably still run smooth but you might encounter low frame rates with Car Racing sims and MSFS.

what holds me back is the fear of nausea.
VR nausea is a possibility when either 1) you do a flight maneuver that would generate a change in forces on your body, or 2) your frame rates are too low, causing confusion with what your brain expects to see.
- when flying level and constant speed, you can look around with little nausea risk
- if you fly like a commercial pilot (smooth, gradual maneuvers), also little nausea risk
- if you fly like an aerobatic pilot (rolls, loops, etc), nausea is likely for first-timers - might want to keep those flights short (10 min)
Being able to naturally scan the horizon and look overhead in the F-18 is amazing, particularly when inverted over an airport

My advice is to go with a widescreen instead of triple monitors. I have a Dell curved U3415W and a Samsung Odyssey WMR headset.

There's ATC payware you could try at http://afs2rcatc.com/

Add a ButtKicker Gamer2 to your chair for some added realism.

You may want to try a full PC reboot to be sure you have all the recent Steam updates. Sometimes you have to do 2 reboot cycles to get them all.

and they are doing it in their own way
Well said.
We all know something is cooking in the kitchen - we all also know the chef is not coming out until it's ready to be devoured by a bunch of customers

Try doing a complete shutdown / reboot. Sometimes if there are one or more Steam updates pending, things can act weird. Do a 2nd reboot to make sure there are no additional Steam updates needed.

Really miss ATC, flying without ATC is just so lonely and less realistic.
Might want to give this ATC payware a try - http://afs2rcatc.com/ .
I did get it to work but I don't fly much. Others use it and seem to like it. I think you can use in VR but you have to memorize a few keys because the ATC menu only works in non-VR mode (maybe that has changed since I installed it last year).

It's possible someone had download issues with the large scenery file and had to download it again, right?
My vote is to keep it simple / leave it as-is. When you release Part 2, make the install instructions very clear - "the HI elevation file should already be installed, if not, install it now."
The example folder screenshots are very helpful so continue to include those and highlight the HI elevation folder.
Great job on Part 1 !

First flight from Port Allen to Barking Sands - the coastline water looks amazing!
I haven't used my Samsung Odyssey headset in awhile. What do you recommend for the Windows Mixed Reality settings, SteamVR settings, and in-game FS2 settings for a GTX1080? What animation setting? Is the default 100%?
Also, awesome detail at Barking Sands - the Police car at the south end of the runway was a nice touch! I felt like I was being watched

Peter, you may want to give this South Florida TL add-on a try ...

G8tr, if you like flight sims, you need to find a way to transition to VR. Budget roughly $2,000 - VR systems work better with great graphics cards.
If you have to build a new PC now but $2,000 is too steep, either a) get the VR headset now with an average graphics card, then upgrade it during the holidays, or b) build a strong PC now and get the VR headset during the holidays.
Either way, I think you'll need more SSD space for your flight sims but a second SSD can be added later.
