Logitech is mainstream and will work with FS2.

Rudder pedals are critical for simulating the human movements required to control an aircraft whether it's for ground control like taxiiing and braking, or airborne skills such as coordinated turns, stall recovery, and cross-wind landings.
I only logged real flight time in a Cessna 152 & 172 and using rudder pedals to hold the centerline during take-off rolls is a strong memory that's great to duplicate with a simulator.

And how to avoid it?
Does it go away if you re-boot your PC?

I would like to see those poles to be replaced by a better alternative
I remember that trick from the early days of experimenting with AM radio towers - you auto-gen 1m x 1m buildings that are really tall (with one downside being some of the windows light up at night).

any recommendations for somewhere good to take the R-22 for a spin?
The Apollo50 project has a bunch of points of interest you can visit up close (or fly through) in the R-22.

I'll guess DC/Reagan.

So we talk about an area of this size?
that looks like Boston.

I've encountered something similar with community-created scenery. Never figured out the cause or fix. If you reboot your PC, do the spikes return in the exact same location?
Admin will probably ask if your graphics driver is up-to-date and does it occur in both OpenGL and Vulcan modes.

I think the confusion was about the RC4 license key - Martin thought Karl would provide 2 keys (RC4 & ATC). Misunderstandings happen and forums help clear them up
-
"RC4 however, which is required, I have not yet received"
You generate your own RC4 key - Karl does not provide it.

Karl, you should probably add a note in the Quick Start Guide to set expectations on how quickly a registration key will be emailed after purchase. I'm guessing 2-3 business days is what you're targeting since this was a side project for you (not your full-time business).

Has an updated version been prepared or uploaded?
Nope.

Got past the Radar Contact msstdfmt.dll error by registering the file using a command prompt window with admin privileges ...
I then used Little Navmap to create a simple flightplan "FROM KADS TO KCLL" and SAVED it as a PLN file. And finally I opened Radar Contact and loaded my new *.pln file and clicked the RUN / Start RC button. When I jumped in FS2 and went to KADS, I heard voices
I think these final steps and an example FS2 flight plan (*.pln) should be included at the end of the Quick Start Guide to help new users hear their first voices and to confirm they successfully cleared all those installation challenges.

Looks like there's some METAR-driven visibility control included in the new 3rd party ATC solution ...
Aerofly FS2 RC ATC available for download (trial or purchase)

Will Little Navmap work if I don't have FSX installed?
I'm getting a "Mandatory departure airport not found" when it tries to read the route description that I copied from SkyMap.
