    Thank you so much, Jet!

Jet...what am I doing wrong? I downloaded your KPLC file from fscloudport and installed. KPLC shows in the sim with static aircraft, and the additional static aircraft show in Santa Barbara as well. Thanks for that!

Now, I opened up the KPLC tsc file. I copied the last entry in the KPLC tsc file shown below...

    Code
     <[tmsimulator_scenery_object][element][17]
    	    <[string8][type][object]>
    	    <[string8][geometry][b757_coe_virtual_340_obj]>
    	    <[tmvector3d][position][-119.83715124 34.42479127 0]>

...and pasted it just below the the last entry above.

I changed the element number to 18. I changed the coordinates to place the additional 757 in element 18 at KBUR, but it doesn’t appear.

I’ve noticed that all the coordinates in your tsc extend to 8 decimal places, yet the coordinates I get from mygeoposition.com don’t go to 8 decimal places. Either way I can’t get the aircraft to show.

What am I doing wrong and/ or maybe not understanding? I really want to populate some airports.

    Thanks a million.

    Hello Jet,

Wow...look at all the aircraft at Santa Barbara!

I can’t thank you enough for all the time that you spent in helping me with this. Your including the TSC file really helps too.

I have a few initial questions, as I am not at home with my pc to experiment or another week.

Are the aircraft that you placed from the Generic Objects Library download from Flight-sim.org.? Where do I obtain these object names to place in the tsc?

I don’t quite understand what “parking positions” are in the tsc file. On the surface one might think that the parking position defines where an object is parked/placed, but I have a sense that I am wrong based upon my examination of various existing tsc files.I’ve looked in the wiki, but can’t seem to find an explanation.

What do parking position actually mean?

You’ve been very kind to me in my struggle to go deeper into this breathtakingly beautiful sim.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Jet,

Thanks so much for responding. I would like to add the aircraft to the airports that came in the dvd version, as well as the additional dlc, such as Colorado.

I feel comfortable editing the tsc files, as I tried to do so based upon the instructions that came with the Generic Objects Library. I tried adding a 737 to an apron area of KSBA (Santa Barbara, Ca), but it didn’t work. I paid attention to the conventions of the tsc file, swapped coordinates for placement just to be sure, but no joy. I used the height and coordinates that appear when enabling the FPS display as it shows coordinates and elevation.

I think my seeing the tsc entry for an additional static aircraft for an existing airport would clear things up for me.

I’m really interested in adding the aircraft, and appreciate any pointers in the right direction.

    Thanks so much!

Is there a way to add static aircraft to the native airports in afs2? I posted this question a while ago on the companion Flight-Sim website with regards to using objects from the Generic Objects library.

    Man...I love Aerofly FS2!

I would think AI would be introduced concurrently with ATC. Otherwise, as you say, why bother. The lonely skies will be a buzz one day.

In reply to the OP. I have always favored selectable levels of traffic, therefore reduced or increased levels of ATC chatter. FSX can drive you crazy with their Piper Cub and Cherokee communications when you are flying a Learjet.

    Regards,

    Ray

I hope/wish ATC and any/all additions to AFS2 are always controlled/selectable by the user with regards to simplicity vs. complexity.

I don't think all of our users would want the default planes to be as deeply simulated as PMDG aircraft or other study level aircraft out there, they'd be overwhelmed by the complexity and would never be able to start the aircraft. When I put the aircraft onto the runway it should always be fully functional, fueled up sufficiently and I don't want to repair the propeller first, change the oil because I haven't flown over a year or clean my wings before I can take off. These are nice features for add on aircraft but don't really belong in a default aircraft. And its true, I do have great plans for our aircraft for the future but we also will make sure it is not such a steep learning curve by providing assistance and shortcuts for beginners so that everyone can have fun even with growing complexity. So we aim to have both, deep complex systems for the advanced users and simple to use assistance for beginners to manage these complex systems

I agree with the Jet-Pack, and also understand those that love the study level sim. This sim is miraculous as it is. I continue to be mesmerized by the beauty of the scenery, aircraft, and performance. I can't think of enough superlatives to describe AFS2. For me it is a dream come true, which I never thought I'd live to see.

Thank you so much IPACS! I will be patient and look forward to more good things.

    Hello Fellow Aeroflyers,

Aerosoft is currently preparing a dedicated Aerofly page. Please be a little bit more patient. A few free DLCs are already available here:

    http://aerofly.aerosoft.com/

When I link to the quoted link I see what appears to be a download for the Colorado DLC in two parts which I so much want, but when I click on Part 1, I receive the following...

NoSuchKeyThe specified key does not exist.aerofly/AS_COLORADO-USA_AEROFLYFS2_PART-1.zip41AF179B21DD9FE4pY61UkBDm3Q679+VfIX0Fi/G1TuSv1PoRNPnmPQ9w29ndXEYLiQtHhzQduhUAwJHRsRSeFQn+go=

I get a similar message when clicking on part 2.

Does this mean the Colorado DLC for DVD is about to become available? Am I doing something wrong? Any help/answers will be much appreciated.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello,

I've been flying the DVD version since January 1, 2018. At the same time I have been visiting these forums. At age 60, I have been with flight simulation from the beginning until now.

I am astounded with AFS2! The scenery, smoothness, and aircraft are breathtaking. I am not a study level aircraft fan, thus the aircraft are appropriate for me with just the right amount of systems management. I'd like to see some regional airliners added, for example Embraer 135/170 etc. I know others love study level aircraft and don't want them denied, but please consider releasing non study level variants on any future aircraft releases out of IPACS as well as study level.

I also discovered that Northeastern DLC is available for download for DVD users at Aerosoft, https://www.aerosoft.com/en/blog/detail…logArticle/1226.

I am looking forward to Colorado, and hoping to see it soon at Aerosoft too!

Thank you so much IPACS for creating this beautifully performing, visually stunning, and user friendly flight simulator! :)
