I believe this has to do with the mesh data that was used, perhaps not fully complete. I have used Norway elevation data from hoydedata.no and had no problems.

- bug: the engine sound has a terrible tick every 10 seconds: the start/end of the loop is clearly audible. Quite annoying.
LOL I hear it!! Make it go away!

Hey Ray, I improved a few of the water towers back in January but never uploaded. Smoothed them out and made a new Multi-leg from scratch due to it shimmering "dancing". No plans on adding picture textures. WaterTower Edit.zip
Edit: 50m multi leg (22m across bottom) / 80m Tower Tee (Top 40m Bottom 12m)
50m Tee (Top 28m Bottom 8m) / 100m Tower Tee (Top 62m Bottom 18m)

You guys are killing me! Not at home and can't tell if this is another joke or the real deal.

Okay, I just looked at my calendar.. I was really looking forward to this

With all these headsets being pushed out, it's too bad we have to rely on Youtube videos etc. Lets go back to the way of when we could actually try before we buy. Thanks alot online shopping.

Fun fact, my name Jake is the name of a young male Turkey, and a older male Turkey is called a Tom. Do you see where I'm going with this?? TomSimMuc it might be fate that Turkey Point be the next POI project All jokes aside, this project is completely doable, I would personally like to see a bit more flat picture texture based exteriors so they can be lite up at night. I have a few ideas.
As to when or how quickly this can be started is the next step..

Assuming you have the knowledge and basic understanding of How to import 3D Models using Sketchup and MCX this is the next step/process of how to convert/edit night textures.
Program used: GIMP
Note: It's important to know that the process of creating night textures is easy, the hardest part comes down to your photo editing skills.
Step 1: In ModelConverterX load model file then proceed to edit and rename " _color " to each desired texture you would like to light up at night.
Save textures to desired folder location and export object.
Note: After exporting textures, you could be finished by simply duplicating each '_color ' texture and renaming to ' _light '
Click 'content_convert_config' and drag your 'tmb. and ttx.' files into desired folder location. And there you have it, night textures!!
But we want to make a somewhat convincing night texture!
Step 2: Right click on desired texture and or open with GIMP photo editor
Step 3: In GIMP, there are a few workflows, again it all comes down to your photo editing skills and how artistic you want to get. Remember you can find anything on the internet and any Photoshop question you have most likely can be found. http://www.google.com
For a bit more detailed editing I typically follow this procedure.
Select 'Layer' 'Transparency' and 'Add Alpha Channel'
Select 'Layer' and 'Duplicate Layer'
If you look at the bottom right corner you will see your texture layers. This is important and allows you to create more color variations such as windows, light bulbs, signs, etc.
Note: While editing I typically make the top layer all black. From there I use the eraser tool to mimic light paths.
: Example video of editing How to Edit Night Texture Video (a basic procedure)
Step 5: When finished editing, In GIMP click 'File' 'Export As...' and under "name" switch "color" to "light" and 'Export'
Step 6: In folder where texture files are located click
'content_convert_config' and drag your converted 'tmb. and ttx.' files into desired folder location. And there you have it, night textures!!
Hope this helps and gives a better understanding.
Big thanks to Rodeo for the help a few full moons ago!

Only a tease but 140 degree FOV with possible improved Vive Pro Panel, interesting to see if they can pull off Anti-SDE?? As Sebastian said perhaps it will bundle with the new Knuckle controllers.
-
Currently I don't believe there is an option for this. Perhaps a script command could be used in the main.mcf? I've asked about this before as it can be an inconvenience when flying the R22 like a madman or lining up a fun aerobatic maneuver

kai503 I now know who I can tell my secrets to because you seem to be really good at keeping them! This is absolutely fantastic news!

Very nice, thanks for the addition and details Ray!

Just flew Aerofly with Pimax 5k+ and I have to say that i'm completely disappointed. I played with all settings, turned everything on high, yet I feel the Pimax has nothing on the Samsung Odyssey series. The extra FOV was nice but the distortion was not worth it. I feel spoiled with the Odyssey's OLED panel vs Pimax LCD. Colors are just bland and night flying was greyish to the point it was hard to see (I adjusted all three brightness settings).
The Odyssey+ anti screen door effect truly cleans the experience up that I forgot what Pixels in VR looked like. After thinking about it, I should have known better given the specs of the Odyssey series. So If I was to recommend anything for VR, I would say hold off on Pimax or similar VR til it gets higher resolution, anti screen door, and uses OLED panel. For now, Samsung Odyssey or Odyssey+ offers a better visual experience for a cheaper price.
This is how I feel based off of only flying in AF2. I haven't tested any other games yet, but I have a feeling my experience will be the same.
