it seems the performance is a little better with the auto switching on - but it really is not performing as it should for the money I invested in this - the upgrade price for RC8 on the Mac is also quite a lot risking it all to get the performance back - Can I demo the RC8 (try before you buy)?

Hi there - thank you kindly for the support - it used to run at 70FPS now it is next to nothing - I have updated the OS recently to 'Big Sur' and that is about all that has changed - I will try with Auto switching on and let you know.

I checked and see that the dedicated Graphics card should be in play

Hi Arthur, I did notice those lines, but not the significance!

Hi Arthur, I noticed you added 'glider (true)' to the other file, is that what makes the difference for hand launching?

Phil -
Hi Arthur,
wow that looks like what I was attempting to do! Last night I managed to get the prop to be hidden, and I was contemplating how to change the aeroplane to a glider in the hope it would be hand launch-able!

Hi Jan.
Thank you so much for the reply.
I can say you file works well on RC7 - Awesome!
My first mistake was to try and edit the aircraft file located in the RC7 package rather than the user mods file as you pointed me to - I used your file and here it is at TOREY PINES - I will do a file compare to fully realise your edits in the code so I can try some edits of my own!

I use the Ultimate version - how would I go about converting the RC7 Spitfire with prop etc to a glider spec (no motor or Prop) that can be hand launched?
-
oh yes I run RC7 Mac version - when I try and slope the spitfire the prop spins even with the power off acting like a brake (just like real life)!

Hi there team, I LOVE the sim and started trying to edit the Spitfire to a slope soarer by editing to prop and power - but no such luck (yet) - any advice welcomed?
