Unfortunately, FS4 does not currently show helipads from the tap file.

Therefore I am currently working with a trick:

- I use an FS2.tsc/wad with a free ICAO code to display objects (e.g. a helipad) from FS2 in parallel to the FS4.tsc/wad.

As an example, I attach "Quatum River Mountain North" from the project "PNW: Quatam River v2.0", which I am currently upgrading for FS4. Here you can see how I use ca9305 files as well as 9305h1 files to display objects.

So LP0048 works for me:

• The main mistake was that there was no boundary of the airfield, I added that once.
• I also entered the short name so that FS4 would show the airfield.

It seems to me that if no boundary is entered, the tool has one too many ">" characters after the airfield data in one line:

I have attached the complete data, whereby I have structured the tap file "cleanly".

The error here could be that you have not entered an aerodrome boundary.

Try this:

- enter an airfield boundary

- enter a short name

=> In my opinion, it should then work.

The concrete mistake here is:

The ICAO in the lpsr.tap must (!) be entered in capital letters for FS4 to read it correctly.

I reported this error to admin some time ago.

I always enter the ICAO code in upper case in the tool, but then change the file name to lower case when exporting, because this is more compatible for FS4.

The specific error is that LPSC has different data in the FS4 database than your version.

Try this one:

- rename the tap-dates to lpsc01.tap (this ICAO code is not assigned)

- change the ICAO code in lpsc01.tap from LPSC to LPSC01

- also enter a short name (FS4 always displays the short name)

=> You will then get your aerodrome correctly displayed.

The FS4 database may need to be corrected for LPSC.

A general recommendation for the aerodrome names is to dispense with all special characters typical of the country. There are always cases where letters such as ö, ô, ò, ó etc. are used. cause difficulties.

Heliports are only shown in FS4 if I have selected a helicopter as the aircraft.

To suppress FS4's own buildings and plants, you have to use Tamaras - works great.

I put my buildings first and then see if I only put tamaras under the buildings or connect several.

In my experience, there are these influences:

• FS4 has an internal database in which LPSC already exists.
  If LPSC is now set up as a customer aerodrome, the data is also read from the internal database. This can be seen, for example, in the fact that the displayed aerodrome name is not necessarily the one from the tap file but the one from the internal file.
• In order to activate manually entered data in the tool, the airfield must first be deleted in the tool and then imported again. Unfortunately, this does not always work.

On the B787, if you swipe forward on the pushback levers with your finger while stationary, they flip back and it goes backwards.

I had the same thought, but all attempts lead to mistakes. If one of the intended materials is not selected in the tap file for a runway (i.e. empty or fantasy name), the "glass plate" appears and you can look "one deck lower".

Interesting mistake:

If you select "Hole" as the material for a runway, the result is a runway "made of glass" and you see the landscape one level lower.

Using IM0005 (Nobles Hospital Heliport, Isle of Man) as an example, I noticed that when there are only heliports, FS4 does not show tarmacs and lines.

I tried a little more with the upper and lower case of the ICAO code. With that, I noticed something else:

(1) In FS4, in order to function correctly

- (1a) on the one hand, all folder and file names should contain only lower case letters,

- (1b) on the other hand, the ICAO code in the tap file should consist of upper case letters.

(2) At the same time, the tap file in the tool automatically takes the spelling from the ICAO field as the file name.

=> Thus (2) creates a contradiction between (1a) and (1b).

=> However, this can easily be solved in the programming.

I have just found a functional error at the PHNL airfield:

• If the ICAO code is entered in lower case (<[stringt8c][icao][phnl]>), the aerodrome does not work properly
• If the ICAO code is entered in upper case (<[stringt8c][icao][PHNL]>), the aerodrome works correctly.

=> I find it best if upper and lower case letters are not important in the ICAO-code line.

=> Alternatively, the entry should only be possible in capital letters.

The new tool is a good thing and sufficient for most applications.

For me, however, manual entries are not superfluous. And for this purpose I have compiled all the information in a template file, which I am attaching as a TXT and as a PDF.

I would be pleased if IPACS could tell us about the other possibilities not yet included in it.

During the alpha test of the new tool, I also created the airfields from this project. Because the result is also still alpha, I am not yet posting it on Flight-Sim.org -- but anyone interested can try it out -- have fun.
