Steam console no longer supports downloading older files. You need a free, 3rd party app for that now. google depotdownloader

I just tried the Baron, the Cessna and the Eurocopter. Crash happened on all of them. But not every single time. With the Cessna I could sometimes restart normally after a crash landing.
-
Cleaned it a bit. There are still a lot of "property 'lights' is not a member of type 'tmsimulator_scenery_place'" messages but I don't know where they are coming from.
-
Done. The crash doesn't happen in SteamVR mode and does happen in Oculus mode for both Vulkan and OpenGL. The crash is 100% repeatable as in it happens every time I crash the aircraft.

As always please upload the tm.log file from your user documents Aerofly FS 2 folder. Do you use Vulkan or OpenGL and does it change when you switch the renderer?
Just upload here, or is there a special place for the log file?

Yeah, the reason I got really bothered by it now and not earlier is because I'm just learning to use rudder pedals with the R22. Lot's of crashing!

Hi,
I have the problem that when I crash in Aerofly, Aerofly just freezes with a spinning hourglass. On the steam forum there are other people with the same problem and one guy found out that the problem is fixed if you download version 2.5.3.11 of Aerofly with DepotDownloader. That's the version from December 4 of 2020.
So that's quite an old version to revert to, can we have a fix for the current version?
I'm using Rift S and the problem doesn't occur in pancake mode.
Update: the problem doesn't occur with Steam VR, so that's probably a better alternative than switching to such an old version.

Since you are in VR, can't you just recenter your position?

While spending some time with MSFS (and not enjoying it at all because of the terrible performance and awkward graphics) I did find one feature that I found very, very useful: hold right mouse button to temporarily zoom the cockpit in the direction you are looking.
Considering that today's VR headsets are still too low resolution to handle all the tiny button labels etc. of an aircraft cockpit properly, I think this feature would be a great addition to Aerofly. And I would think the implementation wouldn't be a huge challenge.
Anyone agree?

Did you say multiplayer data format?

Is there a way to use the Copilot in VR? I would love to demo Aerofly to people in VR but when they have to fly themselves it usually doesn't go well.
-
I see. I'm using the Windows Steam version.

For me it switches on as soon as I switch on BAT MSTR. In case you mean the Primary or Navigation screens, they come on using the Avionics switches above your head.
Aerofly have made a good manual entry for the EC-135: aircraft:ec135_helicopter [Aerofly FS Wiki]

Value for money and value for use this is the best helicopter joystick on the market and it's everything you will ever need . You can learn to fly a real helicopter with this it's so good.
Otherwise you need to buy a joystick and remove the centering springs.
if you want to get serious and master rotary wing flight then the pro flight is magic .

If you get hooked and you have cash to burn then :
Thanks. That's something I can see in my future

Your're right, the frequencies are back!

I am a real helicopter pilot and I think its almost impossible to fly with virtual controls. Helicopters have so many degrees of freedom in their controls than a fixed wing and inherently unstable without razor sharp precise inputs. If you want to enjoy the helicopters on Aerofly you need to buy helicopter controls otherwise you lose 90% of the fun of this software. Please believe me that the helicopters here are as good if not better than commercial sims I have flown in.
Which controllers would you recommend? I guess with normal joysticks the spring is too strong?

Seconded, it was very useful to see the ILS frequencies in game. And even if you go to the internet for the real world frequencies, you can never be sure that the data you find matches the data used by AFS2.

Clipmaker : Editable clipboard For JF Duchess 76 / Cessna 152 / Robin DR400
Let me know if you want to be a 2nd beta tester. I'm going to order a bunch more parts soon and sell them as a kit at cost price. ~£110. Need your own 3d printer though at this stage.
Hey, thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I don't currently have a 3D printer, but I'll definitely ping you in case I do acquire one some time soon.

Wow, this looks really nice.
How did you put the sticky notes in VR?

Anyone?
