Lots of complaints about a smaller sweet spot compared to the Reverb G1 and Quest 2 all over the internet, but the overall picture quality of the G2 is better then every other headset under 1000 bucks...

If you don't wear glasses you can get closer to the lenses using a thinner cover/cushion.
The higher resolution of these headsets also makes the difference in or out the sweet spot more obvious...

And you need to get used to VR too, meaning moving your head instead of your eyes as with every headset...

Most people start out with half an hour in VR, after a few weeks or longer a couple of hours is normally not a problem. You need to get used to it, and don't forget to blink your eyes...

VR is still full of compromises but already great as it is. :)

My Quest 2 has a smaller sweet spot too somewhere in between of the Rift S and G2 but the higher resolution gives me a better overall experience compared to my 1440x1440 per eye WMR headset.

Agreed...And for flight simulators only a Reverb G2 would be even better...

Over here the Quest 2 is also used for gaming, watching 3D movies etc. and for that it's nice to have the wireless option and better controllers.

A wired/ethernet connection between PC and modem/router is recommended and my setup is like that. But I have read posts on Reddit about succesfull connects for PC>router over 2,4Ghz and PC>Quest over 5Ghz Wifi simultanously....
You need to buy Virtual Desktop from the Quest store, not the Steam or Rift version!

After that you need to activate a developer account and install SideQuest, a lot of Youtube tutorials out there, pretty easy...

With SideQuest running and the Quest connected to a USB 2 port then update Virtual Desktop in SideQuest to add the wireless option.

Almost every Oculus or Steam application can be started wireless from the games menu in Virtual Desktop. :)

SideQuest is a place for developers/early access games/applications, there are rumors that Oculus will start a service for early access etc. by themselves coming year.

A wireless connection is not really needed when you are seated in VR but for me it's still a lot more comfortable and now I can connect a 10.000mA powerbank and use the Quest wireless for over 5 hours...

Although Virtual Desktop is a one man developer job and the wireless option is not officially supported by Oculus most users report better image clarity with VD wireless compared to the link cable....

I'm also on a long waiting list for a head mount with good comfort for long VR sessions from this small business:

I don't know if the XR2 chip is powerful enough to run a VR version of Aerofly FS2021 with the almost 4K resolution to be rendered but there is indeed a big market.

But I am already using my Quest 2 wireless with Virtual Desktop and a Wifi 5Ghz 866Mbps connection to the PC for Aerofly FS2 and it's a big step up compared to my old WMR headset...The image quality and latency are as good as with the USB 3.1 link cable!

I am very content that we have now (thanks to Steve and IPACS) four great helicopters in AFS2, the only smooth VR experience with 60-90 fps in high graphics settings on my modest game PC....

With my budget system MsFS in VR won't be any good (maybe 20fps with all the eyecandy turned down to lowest settings) and helicopters will only come in 2022...

DCS (30-40fps) has four helicopters and only four scenery but I love to fly the Huey now and then, KA-50 and Mi-8 are good too, the Gazelle still needs work.

XP11 (30 fps) has more helicopters (and some of them have a good flight model too) and a lot of scenery to choose from but the performance goes up and down with every update and I tend to dislike the graphics though the Quatam river scenery from Propstrike is excellent.

For me it's Aerofly FS2 90% of the time and some DCS for rain and thunderstorms, great water animation and to fly the Huey and Mi-8...

Aerofly FS2 would even be better with a Huey or Chinook, animated water, dynamic weather and more traffic animation (if possible without too much of a framerate hit...) though we have great freeware traffic for some scenery right now....

Overall AFS2 is the most immersive (and only stutter free) VR experience with the best looking scenery for a helicopter simmer but I do love those moving ships in rough water and weather for landing practice in DCS too.
Aerofly FS2 flight dynamics are also better compared to almost every other helicopter in DCS and XP11...
