The throttle has to be set to 50% otherwise the governor target RPM is increased. Twist your throttle to adjust RPM to normal values.

I tried this and it brings RPM into the governed range on the ground but as soon as you pull collective the rotor RPM droops again as if the governor is not actually governing and you have a manual throttle. Does it hold in the green throughout the collective range for you?

I’m new to all this flight sim computer world. I did my helicopter training in the R-22 and am very impressed by the modeling in Aerofly FS2.

One thing that immediately seems off though is the Engine/Rotor RPM. They are both sitting at the top of the yellow as opposed to in the green governed range. Is that how it is to everyone else? I have a puma dual throttle collective and if I tweak one of them I can bring it into the green on the ground but I don’t think that should be affecting things, nor should that be the fix. The governor should keep things in the green under normal circumstances. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Hi, I’m working on hover drills with the R-22 (wish there was an AStar).

Anyone know where there might be a dolly cart to work on landing on it—one that if you don’t do it right, you’d fall off?

While on the topic, how about some slopes?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. I’m figuring the Pitts out but I think the rudder goes full with barely any pressure. Makes a hammerhead very different than I’ve seen in real world. Mashing full pedal at the top to start it is way overkill Vs real. As for inclinometer, good point on not having one for inverted. Didn’t think of that. But when I briefly flew the pitts with Budd Davisson he was pretty loud about keeping the ball centered for our pattern work. It does seem like stepping on the high side of the compass sort of works

Great stuff all! I’m new to sims, and VR, but have done tailwheel and aerobatic training in the Pitts, and did my helicopter ratings in the R-22. I bought Aerofly FS specifically for realistic training in the PItss and R-22. It’s very impressive to say the least and the original post here is spot on. I’d love to hear if most of this was adjusted or if not, maybe get some tips on how to get mine close to real feel. I am using a proflight Puma helicopter flight controls. Any sensitivity adjustment instructions for the pitts would be welcome!

Also, is there no ball/slip indicator in the Aerofly FS2 Pitts?
