I read on RE: Development Teasers for new A350, that the A350 will be on Steam, Android and iOS. Whats about macOS and the AppStore-Version of Aerofly FS4 there? Actually the version in AppStore is 4.6.9 ...
-
Maybe thats another topic, but the current version in Apple AppStore 4.6.8 of Aerofly FS4 has the bug also, that you cannot do a winch launch or push back etc., because the app crashes immediately after starting the flight. The reason is, that the subfolder "equipment" is missing in the app folder (Aerofly FS/Contents/Resources/). Thats not the first time, that this folder is missed within the execute file (in macOS in fact this is a folder) after a new update.
When you copy the subfolder from an old version on Aerofly FS/Contents/Resources, everything is ok again.
Maybe there is a correlation with that on mobile version?

Hey guys,
in the east of Chicago in AF FS4 you will see a very big transmission tower. It's height is about 4000 ft (ca. 1200 meters!). I think, this is a little mistake in scenery, isn't it? Because a funny detail is also, that the same tower is in a very small format next to the huge transmission tower, see screenshot.

I can confirm, that the apple version of AF FS4 doesn't establish connections to FSWidgets. Macbook Air M2 with macOS Sonoma 14.7.4.

From what I know the weather system is initialized at the beginning (when you press start) but no control messages are sent to that module during the runtime which is good for performance. If we end up sending messages to all of the individual parts of the sim the performance would suffer.
Thanks, Jan, but with visibility it works. Is this not a part of weather system also?
So I thought, this would not be a problem with the clouds also …
-
It still is somewhat on topic. The thread was to talk about weather in aerofly, and he did. Sure it does not fully go with the topic, but it is still related.
No, the thread and my intention was just to talk about a suggestion of a possibility for a further key assignment, nothing more.
There are enough other weather-related threads in this forum.

They need to put rain and realistic weather of this game
Thats off-topic, sorry. Because it's a more complex thing to implement a good weather system, which would be a big step for Aerofly FS (maybe this would be version 5 or 6 one day ...), my suggestion is a little and easy way, only to change cloud density during the flight without going back to settings - just by assigning this to a key-command. This thread shows, that I'm not alone with this idea, which should be not a very big challenge for the developers.
By the way, I'm not sure, if a whole weather system is wanted by the developers of Aerofly FS, which is definitely not a simulator with a concept like X-Plane or MSFS. But again, thats not the topic here ...

What do you think, Jan, would this option be possible to realise easily?
... the sound of silence ...

Hey guys, hey Jan,
I have a suggestion, which should not be very complicated to implement: Would it be possible to have key commands for the density of clouds too, similar to the settings for visibility, which is already possible to change it with key commands. The idea is: so you can easily change the cloud density on the fly and simulate in a very basic way weather or cloud changes during the trip?
This maybe would be a little workaround, until maybe a whole (METAR based?) weather system could be implemented in Aerofly FS someday ...
What do you think?

Looking at the A319 QRH, with a gross weight of 56 tonnes at FL410 (ISA) Vls is 175kias
What does your data say vls should be?
Yes, you're right, you can see it on the screenshot. FL410, near 56 tonnes GW, the VLS on PFD is near 180 kias. But you see also the small slot between 225 kias green dot speed and 245 kias overspeed. So the amber marker should show on AF FS4 also, I think.
Jan just wrote, that it will be fixed, thanks! -
Nonetheless I doubt, that you could fly an A32x series with 58.500 kg gross weight (f. e. for the A319 in AF FS4) with 200 kts indicated airspeed at FL390 without any stall. You can compare with real procedures or other virtual flight models like Tollis A319, f. e., which is near study level and correct with calculations.
-
Hey guys,
on the models A319/320/321 it seems to me, that in high altitudes the speed slot (slot between overspeed and stall speed), which is very small in high FL, is not calculated or displayed correctly on PFD. In real flight situations on FL390 there has to be an amber marker til 220-230kts, I think. Maybe you could fix this.
All the best, thanks!

Terrain radar is not implemented yet.
-
No, it's the MacBook Air M2 2022 with 8 GB RAM, 512 GB HDD and 10-core GPU. I assume, the gpu could be the point, the models with 256 GB HDD have only 8-core GPU.
-
I've about 25 FPS, which is good enough for flying flawlessly, on an MacbookAir M2 (2022) with 10core GPU, when I'm fly in an A319 over London with this settings ...
-
I think, both of them are good, but have a respective another intention. So you really can't compare them.
When I want system-depth, live-weather, calculation of route, consumption, payload, takeoff, approach and with ATC ... I choose XP with VATSIM.
When I want to do a quick flight just for fun, with simplicity and unbeatable realistic graphics in my opinion, I love AF4. It has some bugs more, but also many simple intelligent functions, which I miss in the other sims. With LiveATC in the background you even have the feeling to fly with ATC
I like both kind of sims and use it according to my mood and desire.

Who is sitting in the cargo hold of the 777F and plays Aerofly?
-
In real life, wind speeds usually increase with higher flight levels, so that there it is f. e. in FL350 at 70 or 90 knots. But the speeds in Aerofly FS4 are the same as on the ground, what is a little funny, when I look at the ND during the flight. On Airbus models the higher wind speeds will also cause, that the route is displayed more with an angle the higher the tail wind speed is, like in reality.
So, maybe this could be implemented in future versions: the higher the flight level the higher the wind speed?
