    Also needs APU sounds

I found this information from a Boeing engineer who posted a detailed explanation on Flickr under the photo with ID 51089895464, uploaded by the user Happy Landings in 2021.

    Here is the quote:

“To improve performance on the 787-9 and 787-10, an early doors function automatically opens the landing gear doors one second after liftoff and before the pilot moves the gear lever to the UP position.”

This behavior is also confirmed by many real 787 pilots on professional forums such as PPRuNe and X Plane.org, where it is discussed as a normal part of the landing gear logic specifically on the -9 and -10 variants.

For example, on PPRuNe, one user shares a quote from the FCOM:

“The 787-9 MLG doors open at lift-off and close after gear retraction or 30 seconds.”

Also, on Reddit, a 787-9 user describes:

“The landing gear door automatically opened 1 second after liftoff, after 30 seconds it closed.”

On the Boeing 787-9 or 787-10, the landing gear doors open immediately after takeoff, even before the pilot retracts the landing gear. Some think it’s a mistake or say that this isn’t possible. In reality, this is a completely normal and intentional function, built into the aircraft systems by Boeing itself. This feature is called early gear door opening, and it is implemented only on the 787-9 and 787-10 models. The idea behind it is that about one second after liftoff when the sensors detect there is no longer any weight on the wheels the system automatically opens the gear bay doors. This happens regardless of whether the pilot has moved the landing gear lever to the UP position or not. At this point, the landing gear remains extended it is not retracted automatically. For the gear to actually retract, the pilot must manually move the gear lever to the UP position. Only then will the landing gear retract into the bays, and the doors, which are already open, will close. If the pilot leaves the lever in the DOWN position, the gear will stay extended, and after about 30 seconds, the doors will simply close again. This system is designed to speed up the gear retraction process and improve takeoff efficiency. While the pilot reaches for the gear lever, the doors are already open and the system is ready to retract the gear immediately, without delay. It also reduces vibration and improves aerodynamics during the initial climb. Such a function does not exist on other aircraft including the Boeing 787-8, 777, 737, or the Airbus A320, A350, and others where the gear doors only open after the pilot commands gear retraction. So, on the 787-9 and 787-10, the automatic opening of the gear doors immediately after takeoff is not a mistake, glitch, or airline specific modification. It’s part of the aircraft’s design and gear logic. It is a fully normal and safe feature

    Hello IPACS team,

I’d like to suggest adding the Boeing 747-400F to Aerofly FS. This aircraft would be a fantastic and much-needed addition!

While the current 747-400 passenger version is fairly realistic, it feels outdated and lacks detail. One example is the absence of APU sounds, which are also missing on the 747, 777 and 787. In general, the model feels a bit raw.

Also, many users don’t like the long upper deck (hump) of the 747-400 it doesn’t have the same classic, retro look that the shorter hump (like on the 747-200 or 747-400F) gives. That short upper deck makes the aircraft look cleaner and more elegant.

Why the 747-400F is a great idea:

Shorter upper deck – retro and visually appealing.

Opening nose and cargo doors – iconic features of the 747 freighter, and would add great functionality and immersion.

Cargo flying vibe – flying freighters has a special atmosphere that many of us enjoy.

Still actively used – by airlines like Atlas Air, Cargolux, Kalitta Air, Silk Way, and others.

Many liveries and operators – much more variety than the passenger version.

    Aerofly FS lacks cargo planes

currently only the 777F is available. A 747F would add much-needed diversity.

Please consider adding the 747-400F to the simulator. It would bring a legendary aircraft into Aerofly FS with much more realism, cargo immersion, and livery variety.

Thanks for your work and for listening to the community!
