I've no issues with crashes. I'm playing on SteamVR via Virtual Desktop with my Quest 3, Windows 11, RTX 2080. I had the DLC hi-res packs installed but uninstalled it again because it didn't add much but it felt like it had a negative impact on the framerate. No crashed though with the DLC too.

    Hi all,

I'm a longtime on- and off user of AeroflyFS, I have version 1 and 2 and always loved how smooth everything works. Now I've got myself a Quest 3 with the main purpose of flying in VR, and after trying almost all other FS I decided to give Aerofly FS4 a try and boy does it deliver, it is the best VR experience of any sim I tried.

However, there are some issues that could be improved:

    • stick/yoke sensitivity is way too high in some planes when using VR controls. The F/A 18 is barely flyable, it feels like a handmovement of 2mm results in a stick movement to full maximum. Same goes for heli controls, the only planes I found "normal" to control are some WW2 planes. It'd be great if we could adjust the sensitivity of the VR controls or at least make it half or even 25% as sensitive as they are right now.
    • buttons/switch and dial selection is difficult to hit right, especially in commercial airliners like the A320. For example when trying to adjust the resolution of the Rose I would often switch accidentally ADF to VOR or OFF. This happens in a lot of places because the cockpits are so packed. It would help if there would be an (optional) pointer/beam coming from my finger, like the blue lines of the VR controller, showing exactly which button I am targeting. Additionally it should not be required to actually "touch" the button but let it be activated like from a 10cm distance, to not hit any other buttons.
    • lastly, it would be awesome if we could have another menu on the left controller, similar to the one on the right for the view selection. But instead of views it would provide the following options:
      • show/hide kneeboard with live map
      • pause/skip time options
      • display checklist for startup/takeoff and so on

The last one would be top of my wishlist, there are already great tutorials on the website, why not make them available inside the game? This would improve non-VR as well, in VR at least I have the option of (immersion-breaking) Desktop+. I wouldn't need a full text version like on the website, just a true checklist (activate batteries, activate APU and so on...).

As said, the VR experience in AFS4 is something else and it puzzles me that the "big" ones with 10 times as many devs and budget don't even come close to how great VR feels here. With the above mentioned improvements it could be even better, near perfect I think.

    Fly safe!
