Yikes... Never seen that before.

It's weird it's near max landing weight as it actually handlses with quite a light touch and seems to stop relatively quickly compared to the 737 500 for example.
-
TBF though in the real world you have the benefit of the actual feel and tactile existence.
-
That's a good tip thanks.
-
Did you program , file it in as a route?
-
Nice work.. The POI seems a good workaround to restore these.
-
No... Nothing changes.. it's just the info display gui
-
It's your info on the screen.. classic is possibly the best what's available if your not in the position of using just the cockpit view.
I have no idea the reason expert is called expert as it's missing so many things
-
Ah got you... Originally I thought you meant you were pulling a higher flare
-
Whats your descent rate . I'm presuming your on the ILS.
Just wondering if it's the eye position in the cockpit that's giving a weird impression and forcing you to flare more than you need
-
In VNAV mode the speed is automatically managed for you. You need to switch to a different mode in this aircraft because is has no Speed Intervention button (SPD INTV) like the newer 737s. Press the LVL CH button to perform the climb or descent instead and then manually adjust the speed as needed.
Our 737-500 is retrofit with a CDU that is not very common. It wouldn't even have managed speed and no VNAV climb functionality in with this combination but for commonality we kept these features in. That's why it's not working 100% but most things work just like in the other 737s.
Thanks that explains it . I was comparing it to the captain SIM I had got used too

For example Im AP from a programmed FMC with LNAV and FMS selected... But I want to slow down manually wihout reprogramming.
I feel I should be selecting speed and that's it (dialing in my requirements) but when I do that a) SPD won't light up. Or b) my dialed in SPD just disappears
Yikes?.. please change title from speech to speed... Stupid phone

It would also benefit. (Noticed this last night again) In being able to save it's last settings when turned off.
For example you can choose to have advanced view in the settings which in my opinion should be the default. It's really the easiest way to use the cockpit
But if you turn the power off or swap to a different software it always resets this to off. Just seems an easy fix and annoying
-
Thanks I didn't know those were there
-
And your speed.?.. I'm not seeing that big an issue
-
Really superb.. well done and thanks
-
I could be wrong, but the APU of the 787 is electric and it has no sound.
It's a two shaft gas turbine engine.. it is technically the quietest apu but it's not silent nor electrical (i guessing your thinking of what it's outputs via it's electric generators)
-
It would be useful I agree
-
Excellent.. For such a major Hub it really needs some love.
-
Yeah sry my mistake. For some reason I was thinking it did but I was using it last night and realised the same thing you have.
