Yo ipacs, I've been playing aerofly for a while now but sometimes the game feels a bit odd like I always have to set the weather and time myself an that seriously kills the mood and if I set weather conditions they remain the same throughout, no recovery whatsoever and I may not be the only one but I don't know how to read the time UTC and setting it to find the actual time seriously makes me feel even more out of the mood for flying so I was asking if you can add a system that fetches live metar data and then moves the sliders for us during flight to get the realistic weather experience where we can plan for winwind and so on, and same case goes for time because there were people who made a project to move the sliders automatically but it only works when you aren't in the flight, to get the most realistic weather you would need to reload the flight every now and then which is not fun but if you could add his, that would be very nice 8)

Oh yah this one shows exactly what I mean

I was saying that you know how hard it is to add rain into aerofly because of the rendering and other stuff but how about little simple overlays like on windows of the plane instead of putting lines of code for retexturing and behaviour of water and for runways can have png as water on the runway or just a simple reflective surface and for now, atleast let there be like texture on the plane when it rains like a repeating animation of rain drops sliding down the fuselage like these edited overlays of water drops on the windows of the airbus a320 for now, images have jusr been placed and jo fancy animation tyoe stuff but I hope that you can consider this as an option but if not, it's ok,the game'game's still cool though 😎

I am just asking for live weather, not like rain but maybe you can make code to move the sliders according to live weather because I use simbrief to plan my flights and it gets kinda rough manually sliding them and also, same case goes for time, I hope you take this idea into consideration

    Hello IPACS team,

I am a passionate Aerofly user and have spent a lot of time trying to build community tools to enhance realism, particularly an ATC companion for Aerofly. During this process, I ran into a major limitation: there is currently no public or documented API that allows access to live aircraft data such as position, altitude, heading, phase of flight, or environmental data like weather and time.

My original goal was to create an ATC system that could give realistic clearances, taxi instructions, frequency changes, and approach guidance based on the aircraft’s real-time location. However, without access to live aircraft state from the simulator, this simply isn’t possible to do properly or safely. The same limitation also affects other ideas, such as live weather synchronization, time-of-day syncing, and more advanced community add-ons.

I would like to respectfully suggest the possibility of opening limited, secure APIs for community use. Even read-only access to aircraft position, flight data, weather, and time would allow developers to build high-quality external tools without modifying the simulator itself. This could enable realistic ATC companions, weather tools, flight tracking, and other enhancements while keeping Aerofly stable and secure.

In addition, an Aerofly account system could make it possible to integrate Aerofly with external applications such as FlyChart. This would allow features like flight plan syncing, route awareness, and better coordination between planning tools and the simulator, greatly improving the overall user experience.

I believe that official support for community add-on development, through well-documented and controlled APIs, would unlock a lot of potential for Aerofly and its user base. It would encourage innovation, reduce the need for unsupported workarounds, and help Aerofly grow alongside its community.

Thank you very much for your time and for the continued work you put into Aerofly. I hope these ideas can be considered for future development.
