Ju52 left engine failure

If one of the outboard engines fails, the yellow lever on the side of the faulty engine must be pulled back and the aircraft will continue to fly straight. Such a landing can be seen in the video below. Thus, it is easier to fly with an engine failure with the Junkers than with the Baron, which was presented by Overloaded.

With three hands controlling the iPad the Baron’s trim wheel could be adjusted:)

The Ju52/3m speed range means that one rudder trim suits all^^ and there is no danger of feathering the wrong engine!

Banking about 4 degrees towards the live engine to kill side-slip also makes the rudder easier. Easier too if your twin is a helicopter8o

According to the manual, the Ju 52 had no rudder trim. All stages of the flight could be solved without rudder trim. These yellow handles were only used in case of engine failure. It pulled the rudder pedal with a rubber rope. A Spanish colonel who flew the type said on a forum that it was a very convenient solution. :)

You can view the Aero Ju from behind on the ground and see the whole rudder deflect.
There are rubber bands on the Tiger Moth elevator trim, the more sophisticated PA 28 Cherokees had a wind up spring control knob labelled ‘rudder trim’. It was totally useless, I went all the way left and right and felt nothing. Strong legs are the best.

“Strong legs are the best.”
Yes, but the Ju 52 can continue the flight with 2 engines. (In the simulator, you can even take off in this way.) And keeping with your feet the course for several hours is quite tiring.
