Sliding to a halt just there would have been an impressive feat 8) (for a largely helicopter pilot:evil:).

Are you thinking to chase away the gliders with a chopper? :/

I never saw a poor glider lying on its its side;(, flying school R-22s have a short life.

It's a very pretty area that I've visited in the past.8)Too bad Burg Kaprun is not implemented?

Are you thinking of a glider local traffic like this? It wouldn't be bad... :)

In your picture Kaprun is to the left and Zell am See is to the right, both in fairly easy walking distance. I exceed a glider's MAUWt now, did some 50 years ago8). That video doesn't exactly look like it's between Kaprun and Zell, right in the middle of the Alps.8|

I saw the airfield from the Kitzsteinhorn glacier and Kaprun's Maiskogol. Zell is just a bit around another nice mountain on the lake shore. Beautiful country. The Austrian 'great alpine road' trip goes past/starts from there, I might get to do that coach tour sometime.

The video was taken by a female pilot in a flat area during a race. I just wanted to show how much traffic there is in a thermal at this time.

Gee, that must be why they wear a parachute? right turning only?

I understand that the glider arriving later must follow the turning direction of the gliders arriving before it so that they do not fly into each other.
