[…] Recently I did the stunning VOR approach into Puerto Natales in Patagonia from Santiago. The procedure isn’t in aerofly, but if you find the chart it will give you everything you need. Raw data flying + stunning scenery = Perfection.

A few things with the Final App mode in Airbus: The L/DEV deviation is only shown after the APPR button is pressed, but it should (to my knowledge) appear when the APPR phase is activated, like the V/DEV scale. For some reason, CAT 1 is shown in the FMA when in FINAL APP mode, even though no ILS is tuned. Otherwise, the plane actually flies quite well!

Pressing the apr button will do nothing but show CAT 1 on the pfd if the runway also has an ils. The vnav works the same regardless if the apr button is pressed. It is also an issue that on airbus pressing the appr button will make the aircraft attempt to fly the ils rather than final app, even if the ils hasn’t been tuned.

[…] Make sure to set a lower altitude before reaching the t/d point shown on the nd. Arm vnav by pushing the button. For ils approaches, there is a tutorial on the aerofly website.

The current vnav system in the Learjet just about works for descending, following alt constraints. For non precision approaches, while in the real world vnav would also normally be used, I would just use v/s based on the chart glidepath.
