+When the flaps have been selected to the down position but don't show any deflection: that is normal if you are too fast.
+In the real F18 fighter jet the board computer schedules the flaps and slats according to the airspeed and [[aircraft:tmd:airfoil#angle_of_attack|angle of attack]]. Above 250 knots the flaps only deflect a little bit during very tightly flown corners and only below 250 knots will they deflect more significantly to improve lift.
+At typical approach speeds, such as 140 knots the flaps will reach full down deflection with the flap selector in the down position.
