LOL Do I feel stupid. When you want to pick a new plane you can use the left and right arrows to scroll between them. It always annoyed my that I had to move my hand from the keyboard to the mouse in order to click on the left and right icons to select the livery you want. I was just figuring out how to make me favorite liveries the default ones (which I still might do, btw, it seems to be easy scrap that: I decided not to fool around with files unless really necessary) when I accidently discovered that the up and down arrows let you scroll through all liveries... I've been using AFS2 for so long and had never figured that out LOL 
Makes you wonder what other nices features I still haven't discovered...
