Electric heli motor parameters (Logo 600)

  • I was finding that the Logo 600 was bogging more than I'd expect, so I took a look at the model parameters and based on the U0 and Ns values, I'm guessing that it is simulating an 8S motor. Is that correct?

    So, if I'd like to simulate a 10S power system with a Scorpion HKIII 4025-560, can I use the values that Scorpion publishes in the motor parameters as follows?

    I0 = 2.24 A (idle current at 10V)
    Ns = 560 revolutions/min/V
    Ri = 0.014 ohms internal resistance

    and

    U0 = 37 V

    I experimented with the above changes. There was no longer any bog, and the performance was more in line with what I'd expect from a contemporary setup on a Logo 600.

    Continuing along, if I wanted to change the gearing to reflect the typical pinion used with a 10S system on this heli, I'd modify the ReductionRatio to reflect the new ratio of the main gear to pinion?

    Are there any parameters which model the upper limits of the motor/ESC/battery output?

    Thanks!
