Hi Clayton,
Thanks for the reply. How are trees identified in OSM? I can see where there are "blocks" for houses, but trees?

Rodeo...
Thank you so much, I really appreciate this. I have the buildings showing up now, and will use the .tsc as a guide in my other efforts. Now one more question. How do I add trees?
- Kenneth
Hi Rodeo.
Thank you.
I tried again with another area, and did document my 20 steps in case we need to review them. However, will start by sharing the .toc and .tsc files as you suggest.
The only other thing I can think of is that I am missing a dummy runway file.
Hi Rodeo.
Thank you for your help, unfortunately, despite trying everything I can think of so far, and following it all, I see no buildings in my efforts. It seems like I am doing a jigsaw puzzle, and hopefully missing only one piece for it all to make sense. But for now, I don't know what piece is missing.
I will try it again with a different area and document every step I take. The maybe we can see what I am missing.

Hi Ian. We are doing the same thing today, my first cultivation attempts too. I will be watching this thread with interest as I have the same questions. I will add another...
3. Do you need a dummy runway file? Or can you just work with the basic airport .tsc
- Kenneth
Hi Rodeo,
I am working my way through the process. I think I have got everything right, except for the buildings folder. Your video mentions to pick the right folder, the one with "already converted ttx files", but I look in the airport design package and do not see the files. What am I missing here?
- Kenneth
Hi Rodeo.
Thank you. I have the files. I have successfully opened Sceneproc. Now, I will continue with your video tutorial and see what the next step is... I appreciate your help, and will keep you informed of my progress.

Quick help needed.... I decided to follow the cultivation tutorial...
So, I started by downloading Scenproc, but am getting nowhere. I have windows 7, on an old machine, so I assume I am running a 32-bit OS. I downloaded the 32-bit version of Scenproc, tried to run it, and was told it was incomplete and I needed to reinstall the complete 64-bit version. I went back to the site and downloaded the file that is supposed to be the update. Unzipped it, tried to run it, and got the same message again. So then I went back to the site and downloaded the 64-bit version, extracted it, and on trying to run it go the same message once more. OK, officially STUCK.

Phil,
Thanks for the encouragement. Where's the best place to start the cultivation learning curve?
- Kenneth
Hi Phil.
If user-created cultivation is currently linked to airfields, and the DLC of New York brought trees to areas that are far removed from airfields, then one wonders if the core sim creates cultivation through a different process from that which users are using. Maybe future versions of the sim will expand the coverage of basic trees so that third party developers have more of a base to begin their scenery design work from.
I find myself between two minds. Do I invest the time to learn cultivation now, or do I wait to see further development in the sim's cultivation engine before undertaking that learning curve?
- Kenneth
Connye... Do you have the DVD version, or the Steam version?
I've not yet stared to learn cultivation, but tonight I was flying near a Geoconverted Niagara Falls, and when I crossed from Ontario into New York State, I was amazed to find trees. I suspect these came with the New York DLC even although the detailed scenery does not go that far north. But here's what I'm wondering. If that's the case, then how was such a massive area cultivated? Was it all one process? And if it was, how can a person cultivate an entire state or province in one shot? Do any tutorials give direction for the beginner in this regard?

Paulo... All the very best of luck in making aircraft for FS2. Have you designed for FSX and is any of your work available in the typical locations (avsim, flightsim.com, etc)?
- Kenneth
Phil,
Sorry to say the suspicion has shown itself to be unfounded. The chap was not with Carenado after all.
But this leaves a thought...
I have spent thousands of dollars over the years on addons for the MSFS platform. I have supported big names (Carenado, Alabeo, A2A, Lionheart, IRIS, Just Flight, etc) with those purchases. Now, I am spending more time with FS2, and by implication am spending ZERO dollars with these companies who do not yet build for this new platform. In short, they are losing my business by not coming out with support for Aerofly.
How many of my fellow forum members can identify with this situation?
Maybe it is time we started a writing campaign to these companies, maybe it is time we told them they are losing us. Maybe we need to actively begin encouraging them to build for FS2. If one person does it, it will be ignored. If thousands of us do it.... well.....
- Kenneth
AH Nuum... Thanks for the clarification, Oh how I wish you had been Carenado.
- Kenneth
HiFlyer,
ORBX I know about, but what are the guys at Aerosoft doing?
- Kenneth
I really enjoy the ability to use a key or button to gain altitude quickly (like a vertical slew key). Is there an undocumented "fast down" function to decrease altitude in the same way? If not, it would be a neat feature. (Hope it's not staring me in the face and I can't see the wood for the trees!)
- Kenneth
Clayton4115.. You go back to FS98, and you are in Australia? Did you ever have the VIP Classic Wings CD's put out by PC Aviator for FS98, back in 1997-ish?
- Kenneth
These aircraft all have constant speed props. In the sim, I think you will find the engine sound is more attached to the use of the prop levers than it is the throttle levers. It's years since I flew an aircraft in real life with the constant speed prop, I get the feeling that the sim may be a bit out here in terms of sound (or my memory may be wrong!)... Anyway, try this. Keep full throttle, and reduce the prop pitch, notice the sound. Engine performance is based on balancing the RPM and Manifold Pressure according to the operating handbooks of each type. (add in the mixture too...)
